I ordered a large amount of CCI, Lapua, and RWS ammo from a sponsor. Everything looked good until I came across the BBM ammo in lieu of the RWS. I called the company and they said they'd look into it. I get an email response with the following:

"My co-worker done the photo record, we shipped BBM instead of RMS to you. RMS is the new version of BBM. They are actually same item and same price."

Now I'm unsure of this. I did a search and some people are assuming that these are the same as RWS because RWS makes it for BBM. But Federal makes American Eagle and Winchester allegedly makes Herter's ammo. It doesn't mean it's identical stuff.

I'm not looking for any assumptions. Does anyone actually know if it's the same stuff? I just like getting what I paid for.

It may depend on what variety of BBM you have. Apparently BBM Semi Auto is rebranded RWS Semi Auto. It's been available at several dealers.

Federal Match 922A was manufactured by RWS to R50 standards.
Testing found it to be comparable. The flap on one lot had R50 printed on it. The packaging was similar.

What was the difference in price for the RWS you ordered versus the BBM?

This smacks of a lack of professionalism:

"My co-worker done the photo record, we shipped BBM instead of RMS to you. RMS is the new version of BBM. They are actually same item and same price."

DONE? RWS and RMS? Same item and same price?

I will have to check the sponsors closer but my first though was TESRO but the BBM was not listed.

Checked another sponsor and found one BBM:
Part of BBM’s “M” Line, this high velocity, precision-loaded ammo is optimized for use in all short and long-barreled 22 LR weapons, both semi- and full-automatic. It is brass-cased with a 40 GR copper-plated bullet for 122 ft lbs of energy and a velocity of 1250 fps. This High Velocity 22LR ammunition comes in the retail pack of 50 rounds per box

Was surprised to read this descriptor: both semi- and full-automatic.

Allowing this type of misinformation might suggest where TruDope and Blieberal Bill get their facts . . .

I purchased a bunch of this ammo and the dealer actually had new RWS sleeves to put on the BBM boxes. Ive tested both and the accuracy and velocities were identical and the headstamp shows its RWS. However the BBM that I purchased was the same as RWS semi auto. If you paid for a higher end RWS then id be a little concerened receiving the BBM. I can take a box of SK Standard plus and put it into a Lapua Midas + box but wont magically transform because the headstamps the same. Make sure its Apples to Apples.

I ordered the RWS semi auto and received the BBM high velocity. Technically the price is the same on their site. They don't sell bulk BBM but if you multiply the box of 50 prices, they're the same. I guess I won't make a big deal out of it but I still like to get what I pay for.

99% of a Mazda Tribute is made of Ford parts. But if I order a Ford Escape and receive a Mazda Tribute I won't be impressed.
