Hello everyone.

I just got my PAL and I'm totally a newbie in the firearm world.

I want to buy a Beretta 92 FS.

At g4cgunstore the price is $829 with
Magazines x 2
Cleaning Kit
Case
Cable Lock
User Manual

Do you guys think this is a good deal at the moment?

I'm not able to find the price history of this pistol, so maybe somebody who know the history price can give me some advises?

Thank you for any help.

New that seems to be the going rate.
If you are open to used or nearly new and somewhat patient you can find several on EE. I picked up an Inox for $900 a couple of years ago and the price seems to be about $900 for American made and about $950ish for an Italian model..... A New Inox pistol seems to go for btw $1150-1300 from what i have seen recently. Pretty much just like cars a premium is attached to new pistols.
(buying used on EE I didn't think to clarify about the magazines and the person selling to me either got black mags or switched out the silver inox mags I'm not sure but that's my only beef about buying cheaper on EE, still a silver inox is sweet)

All depends do you like black or silver? or some of those more expensive gold models. Still they are very reliable firearms and if that's what your after go for it. If your looking to scout around and run yourself ragged to find the same pistol for $~40 less someplace is it really worth it? If you are happy with the dealer presentation of the piece you are interested then make the deal.

Thanks for your reply.

I just want a black one.

I think I don’t have permission for EE yet.

I sold an excellent condition 1990 vintage FS on the EE 2 years ago for $800 so I think $829 new is pretty good!

Be aware that the front sight on the F/FS series are fixed and not changeable without gunsmithing.

Thanks for your advice.

I need to show this to my wife for the budget. ;-)

If what you want is a Beretta 92FS, and you know that, the next step is finding the vendor from which you want to buy your pistol. Before you do, however, my question is this:

Are you sure that you want to buy a 92FS? You wouldn't prefer an LTT?

The LTT version is really a very good option,
but the 92 fs is what I would choose, because when I was a boy, 92FS was my first pistol toy.
It’s been my dream pistol:)
Thanks a lot though.

Your in the wrong sport if you need to ask permission from your wife!!!
Zipper on the side of your pants is it???
btw if you go to the EE forum and click on Exchange of Hunting/Sporting Rifles and the right column doesn't say private, you have been accepted to access the money pit!

The heart wants what it wants.

I can certainly understand your appreciation of the 92FS. It’s an icon. I think back on all those cool Hollywood movies starring Bruce Willis, Mel Gibson, all those LA gangsta movies where Po-Po carries the 92F. And of course it was the US sidearm until recently.

Good choice. Do you like the ones with plastic or wood grips?

keep an eye on the EE you could get the inox for that price
had one sold it , loved the gun but just seemed poorly balanced for me
large grip and i guess my hands didn't make a good fit
found it a tough shooter

The inox version looks indeed nicer. But in terms of reliability and durability, I think it's the same as the regular ones.

We still have to clean it even if it's stainless steel, right?

If you want one like the movies, you need to search for a used one with straight dust cover, not the new ones with the .40 frame.

i always found mine reliable never had a single issue but i clean all my guns so never really put it through a stress test dirt wise

Drooling!, this would be the 92 I would want. With the decocker instead of the safety. "G" model, and many other tasty features. Going to check one out at Al Flaherty's.
