Is browning quality

Browning produces many of their most popular models such as the BLR, BAR Safari, BPS, BL22, Citori and SA22 the same exact way they always did and have not cut corners or diminished the finishing/manufacturing tolerances to cut costs. This is relatively unheard in the modern firearm economy,

They have newer models with cost cutting features billed as innovations or new features but many classic popular designs remain unchanged. Their Japanese made guns are extremely well crafted and finished.

I have a Henry Long Ranger carbine now to compare with the BLRs.
The wood and checkering on the Long Ranger is definitely better.
That shiny shellac they put on the BLRs can’t match it.

Haven't owned a Browning rifle yet but still have my 1990 A500g 12 ga and there has never been a single issue and still looks like new after years of small game hunting. I'm happy with the quality

Browning makes decent products, but when it comes to rifles produced by other arms of the parent company (FN Herstal) I'd take a Winchester Model 70 over any of the browning bolt gun offerings today.

Really? I have read many articles swearing by the Model 70 but better than Browning too? Wow. In all calibers?

I really like the model 70's too, but with them it depends a little more on when and where it was made, there are a few years of manufacture where they are not as well finished as in other years. Some of the supergrades are very nice examples of quality workmanship.

My favorite Brownings are comparable to my Sakos in performance and fit and finish . In fact 2 have sako receivers L46&L57

The gloss finish on the new ones is meant to shine in the display case . Some like shinny rifles , me , not so much

Have an A bolt in .30-06.. did t think I would like it when I took it on trade. But it has grown on me. Don't like the clip on mag but I mainly use it for stand hu ting. Now. As to Winchester. I like them. I have a mdl 70 in 7mm win mag. Shoots ok. Short barrel. But it does the job I ask of it. Definitely not one of Winchester s best built. I got the chance to handle a pre 64 mdl 70 in 270 win. Great gun. Everyone's trying to figure out where it went after the owner passed away. His wife brought me all of his firearms to get a good price for and it was the only thing missing.

What about their shotguns: BPS, Gold, Auto 5, Maxus, Citori, Cynergy?

I've heard good things about all, just heavy triggers that's all.

My Miroku original A5 Magnum is a quality piece.

I wish the aftermarket supported Browning.

Most Browning firearms generally work well out-of-the-box so there is little desire or need for aftermarket parts unlike current production Savage and Remington which seem to have evolved into "kit" guns that require the owners to finish and fine-tune.

What about their shotguns: BPS, Gold, Auto 5, Maxus, Citori, Cynergy?

I own both BPS and Citori shotguns and I can say they are rock-solid.

Henry makes nice rifles and they have a good rep for taking care of the customers as well

Every Browning product that I have owned has been excellent... I don't own rifles anymore, other than a couple Pre-81 BLR's in .308 and .358... but most of my shotguns are Brownings and I have owned and shot dozens of them over the past 40 years... all of them being excellent.

They make good stuff, no issues I've ever had with them, even have a pair of cheap AB3's and was very impressed with the quality they are.

There is no questioning Browning's quality, but IMHO some of their guns are over engineered. The bolt from a Browning bolt gun is awful busy, and you'd better be a watchmaker if you intend to successfully strip and reassemble a BLR. Having said they, they shoot, they are reliable, and particularly in the case of the BLR, they are innovative.

Browning has arguably more different models and new products then any other rifle manufacturer. It's their hay day. Quality and selection seem excellent. Accuracy has always been better than most.

Had two Brownings, an A-bolt in a limited series and a BAR, both of them with excellent accuracy, to bad the BAR didn't eject properly now i only have one browning.

I have an x bolt in 270wsm. It has been one of my most accurate rifles from day 1. It is one of those rare guns that will shoot factory ammo almost as well as handloads and the point of impact hardly changes between different loads. I've been looking at getting another one in .223 as well.

I have had good luck with the Brownings that I own, and have owned, over the years.
I started out with a Browning A Bolt in 280 Rem in 1989. It shot really well. While some may not care for the magazine that clips into the drop floorplate, I did not mind it. Knowing that you could not have the magazine fall out in the bush was a good sense of security. Never should have sold it, but was young and foolish! LOL But wanted to replace it with a left hand model someday.
I have had a couple of different BLR's over the years, pre-81 and a newer version. Still have my pre-81 in 358 Win. Great rifle, terrible trigger, but I know it well and can get the rifle to print 1" groups at hundred yards, and it has been my main back up rifle for guiding, atv and horseback hunting and for archery hunting. It has accounted for several elk and moose over the years.
Been thinking of a switch barrel rig based on the T/D version of the BLR; in 250 Savage and 338 Federal.
Also have their Model 71 reproduction rifle in 348 Win. Original owner special ordered this Grade 1 with High Grade wood. Absolutely beautiful grain!
I also have a customized X Bolt All Weather LH in 6.5 Creedmoor. I orignally ordered when they introduced the rifle, but after a year's wait, I received a letter from Browning saying that they were not going to produce the LH in 6.5 CM. So I bought a 7mm-08 and had it rebarreled with a Benchmark 5R SS barrel. It has a great trigger and shoots very well. Will do 3" groups at 400 yards with factory ammo, when I do my part.
Actually looking at another X Bolt in 270 WSM to rebarrel to 6.5 PRC.

I believe you can buy a Browning with confidence!
