I am casting lead bullet in my back yard and my nosey neighbor saw me and started to freak out when she smell burning bee wax on my pot and told me she will call cops on me, I told her it is just a bee wax calm down, if a cop showed up and saw what i was doing em i going to be in trouble? because of lead?

Your neighbour is a #####. Unless you are smoking her out, you're likely fine. Only problem I can see is with the local bylaws if they are worded poorly.

x2 check bylaws. Yuo can usually doenload them from your town's website. Be sure to check the ones regarding burning, fires, etc. That might be the one to catch you with your smoke if the by law officer is a dink.

If anyone asks what you're up to, don't use the word 'Smelting' as some like to do to describe melting down bulk wheelweights etc.

It's real meaning is something more involved than simply melting lead and very well may be illegal in residential areas, depending on the local laws.

I tell them I am melting nuclear material for my next device. Generally stops them for a minute and then they laugh. Good to live where people have a sense of humour.

I have a cop as a neighbour and he hasn't said anything to me.

I have had pots that really smell bad as I am melting roofing lead. That tar smells something awful. Even keeps the bugs away.

"What are doing over there!"

"Well, I wasn't planning on making the announcement just yet, but I'm completing a small nuclear warhead, and I'd really appreciate it if you'd mind your business."

thank you guys for the quick reply..I was going to make some 45-70 for my marlin gbl, it is already a clean led bars, I know they are nosy that is why I made this hood complete covers and with filter, so they would not able to see what i been doing ..my mistake was I throw in a pinch of bee wax and it smoke a little and ignited it..a little smelly but not that bad..it is a little bit unfair for my side coz almost everyday, I smell weed from them, I do not call cops or complain because I have 3 teenagers, I just mind my own things, and yet a burned a little bit of wax they freak out..I know they called cops but not sure why they did not showed up..maybe tomorrow? umm

here is the hood..

I do it on my back deck in full view of all the neighbours. Of course they have become acclimatized to my behaviour. I test fired my wood fueled, brass smelting furnace in the back yard a number of years ago. It smoked out the neighbours and sounded like a jet engine. I promptly moved it onto a friends acreage.

The neighbours are probably ecstatic that I am only making bullets now.

I don't think anyone can answer the question without reading your town/city bylaws. I don't believe there's a federal law that says what you can burn/melt in your backyard.

Neighbours can sure be difficult. My street is a residential parking zone, yet my neighbours leave notes on my truck saying they'll have it towed if I park in front of their house. That's the last thing I need when I'm going to work in the morning haha

Off topic but I bet that u will find they own their property and not the city street in front. Thats fair game for anybody..Have a look into it, copy the bylaw and slap it on their windshield..along with a PFO card

That's why I said it's a residential parking area. I could park a winnebago in front of their house for 83 months if I felt like it. This is what I meant by neighbours can be difficult. Sure I could tell them to flog off and act like a ####, but I have to live there. It's not about being a ##### and backing down, it's about not letting petty stuff like that get to you. Imagine being the type of person that squibbles down a note, slips it on your car, and hides in their house instead of just asking you not to park there. I think it's bad enough for them without me escalating things.

Not knowing the by-laws for Oakville, but I don' think you will have any issues, seems your melting your lead on a hotplate of some sort, you don't even have an open flame, so I see no fire hazard....

You could run into trouble for doing what your doing only because your house is probably in a residential zoned area, and not a commercial zoned section, but then again your doing this as a hobby and not a business...

Cops probably won't show up, they couldn't be bothered, you might get the fire dept show up, or possibly the city by-law officer

light up a few citronella candles, those might mask some of the odor....

Its not like you're burning tires in the back yard. Tell the b!tch to back off or the next time you smell pot coming from their house.........call the fire dept on them.

I'm SOOOOOO glad to be out of Jokeville. We were at 6th line and River Oaks Blvd. Everybody just HAD to know what everybody else was doing. The one thing I had going for me was my father-in-law. We were staying at his house while we were looking for one. He's a miserable SOB, and all the neighbors just tried to steer clear of him. I made a bunch of bullets in our driveway and didn't have a problem. The VERY next time you smell pot, call the cops. Turnabout is fair play.

Oakville is kind of hurting. I live in Glen Abby and constantly get a bunch of horsesh|t from my neighbors. We had a lady in the area who called the cops on everything, left notes on peoples doors talking trash, and it got to the point where the cops wouldn't even knock on doors. You should probably drop that bomb that you don't say anything about them smoking weed, If you take a walk around Oakville at night you'll see lots of garage doors open about a foot, people smoking weed.

interesting angle about the dope.
Reminds me of a comment one of my English teachers made.
He was trying to point out something that was going down in a book we were reading.
He said:

"If you come across 3 kids, and the first one says 'Hello Mister",
and the second one says 'Hello Mister',
and the third one says "I didnt break the window"
what do you right away think?"

If people ##### too much, I tend to wonder what they are hiding.
