Hi Guys,

I got my September issue of "Canadian Access to Firearms" today. There was a very interesting ad in this months issue.

It looks like Century Arms is looking to get back into the Canadian market.

After an almost twenty year absence, that would be like a breath of fresh air! Maybe a new source of military surplus.

They never left, they have always had a warehouse here which is still in Montreal, that is were all those recently back on the market stripped Garand receivers came from.

Century use to be a major player on the surplus scene, but now they are in the minor leagues. Except for a few AK-47 clones, they do not have much to offer. When their importation of the Korean M-1's was denied by President Obama that really hurt them, now the major US Importers are PW Arms, Samco and Royal Tiger.

Hmmm? I wonder if this has anything to do with the U.S government blocking Century's plan to import $30 million worth of Garands into the States.Canada would be a nice close spot to import the grands to.They would have a place to strip most of them down to supply the U.S with parts,And a market in Canada for complete rifles.South Korean Garands WooHoo.

Another Canadian Importer has been working on that for a year now, an incredible number of fences keep popping up to get those Canadian Import permits approved!

That would be great if it materializes:rockOn:

Century seems to be the major player in this deal. Recently the U.S vetoed bringing these back to the States. I think this is the only way that they can get the rifles "onshore" and have a viable base of operation to supply the U.S market with the parts that they want. On the upside this should bring a fresh supply of Garands to Canada. The price we will have to wait and see. The receiver is the only part that I think that they are unable to re-import.
