Is handgun +P/ +P+ ammo bull####?

I fired probably 5000 rounds of 9mm NATO through both a CZ75 and Glock 17 in the late 1980s and early 1990s with no issues. I think in any modern handgun you wouldn;t have anything to worry about, although continued use will accelerate wear.

I don't have any issues with it, nor am I asking about that anywhere in my post FYI for everyone. In fact I wanna know where to get some. I use and abuse my Glock, I want some hard ammo for it.

I would not shoot a +p or NATO spec ammo out of an antique firearm. Then again I shot IVI out of the Inglis so....?
I heard of the old +p+ out of the early RCMP 226s and subsequent frame cracking but early model 226 U140 ### and below ish were all somewhat susceptible to issues.

The +p federal hydrashok in my .45 acp gave me a noticeable increase in recoil in my 1911. For what its worth. Could not tell on target though.

I've shot +p 9mm out of my G17 Gen 4, and yes, there is a noticeable difference in recoil and report (more and louder). I thought perhaps the "marketing" had soaked my brain so I had a friend mix load a mag for me (I didn't watch him)...still a noticeable difference. I was able to call the +p rounds every time. Far from scientific objective testing but what the he11...buy a chrony if there are doubts!? I'm referring to the frangible projectile +p ammo (don't recall the weight, or brand {sheriff something or other?}) I believe it was the same grain or close to 124 FMJ rounds.

Where do RCMP carry Sigs?

RCMP ERT's carried Sigs in the '80's and 90's, as did dog handlers (?) - they also shot lots and lots of CF Surplus NATO ammunition, which according to SAAMI is into +P+ territory for pressure. They used to tear the rear frame rail on the left side of the pistol - or at least the one I handled was cracked and torn in that location. Sig replaced the guns and modified the rails to compensate.

Is the Barnaul 9mm some of that sub-gun stuff? I shot a box last week and it seemed a lot snappier than AE, Blazer or Winchester? There was no information on the box other than weight and calibre. Also had lots of failure to feed, ie stove piping the next round and failure to fires even tho there was a strike on the primer. This was in my NP34 and I have never had any issues with it and I have a couple thousand thru it.

Nope, Barnaul is just full power CIP pressure spec 9mm. That's what 9mm is supposed to be like.
