The only walking I get to do is from the car to the stand (about 600yds). I hunt on a piece of land that belongs to an association which has tons of rules and one being that you must hunt from a tree stand or blind :( . It's a shame because I have spooked my share if deer walking to and from the blind while bow hunting.

My wife doesn't seem to think so. I told her I'd fill my pack up, strap it to her back, throw a rifle over her shoulder and see if she could follow me around in mulie country. Then, just as it's getting dark, make her drag 3 or 4 sandbags a couple miles back to the truck!!

Depends what I'm hunting I guess. Bow hunting for deer, hide in a tree or shrub and wait, not much exercise. Ducks or geese, hide in a ditch or blind and call and wait, not much exercise. Rabbits, walk fence lines and drainage ditches, kick brushpiles etc, get a bit of excersize there.

There is nothing like walking and hunting, and go places no ATV can reach. Kicked few doe's out of bed today, and my laser range finder told me that the distance was 45 yard whe I caught them napping. Had few deer comming at 33 yards. It's open for "any" black tail buck buck, and I am looking for one for my freezer.

I spent 3 hrs yesterday crawling around a marsh in chest waders jump/pass shooting ducks. The dog was beat too

That's got to be better for you than sitting here @ CGN :D

SC........................

10lbs!? You dropped your rifle in the wood or fogot to bag your gabage?

LOL!!!!! Imagine that.... "Honey! Look I lost 10 lbs while hunting.... <<<pause>>> ####! I left my rifle against the tree while I went for a piss!!!!

Walking for me is the best part.... at one with nature.

I usually lose some weight during season...

Especially htis year, I've been hiking up and down to the Fraser River.

My GF is calling me "skinny"

I've dropped some pounds this fall as well..........I hurt my back though when me and a buddy tried pulling my moose up onto the truck.

hmmmm....the last 4 winters i have shot over a dozen jackrabbits and probly 20 cottontails each year. all hunting by myself. so yes, i get alot of exercise hunting

snowshoes cant be worn while going through the bush for cottontails so i kinda suffer out in the fields tracking jacks. dont really think about getting tired though.
