Thats an altered bayo for the bi-pod . but I won't shoot with it .
It's more of just a cool looking holder than anything .
I think recoil will damage the bayo lugs . I bet it will throw off the bullets point of impact as well .
I've been pondering on making a muzzlebrake for it ...lol

I have to admit that my question was a bit tounge in cheek, the altered bayo is a neat idea though.
As it happens I have a No4 with a muzzle break. I bought a sportster that had had the bayo lug portion of the barrel removed, I had full military wood for it but it looked bloody stupid with an inch and a half missing so I made a muzzle break for it. At a glance it looks just like a stock No4, the break butts right up to the front sight. It is what I would describe as a sharks gill muzzle break, the gases are directed back at a 45 degree angle sides top and bottom.It reduces recoil extreemly well but does make it very noisy to shoot. I would have bought a new barrel for it if it were not for the fact that the two groove barrel is a good shooter.

My father owns a Remington M700 in 300 Remington Ultra Mag, supposidly has 20% more power (and recoil) then then 300 Win Mag.
Never shot it though, decided to stick to standard calibers after hearing 300Win Mag's and 300RUM's go off. 
Personally only reason I'm thinking about the 303 Epps is the bigger case life, not the speed increase which in a No.4 action wouldnt be too much anyways.

My P14 used to go BOOOM until I floated the barrel, now it's more of a whip cracking noise that I could not spell even if I tried. The recoil is not at all severe with the 7mm rem mag, it's as accurate as they come, has very long range capabilities and a flat trajectory, what more could anyone ask for.
If you are thinking of chambering a No 4 with the Epps cartridge just to extend case life then it is hardly worth the bother.

Sure it's a good thing, but the cost of getting it re-chambered would be prohibitive compared with buying new cases. .303 brass lasts me for ages, in fact I am still using brass that I have loaded at least 15 times, come to think of it i have not disgarded any so far.
