If that rib is metal, it's always been that way. I say that because the only two things that could cause it to be wedged up like that seem pretty unlikely to me.
From that picture, the ring around the chamber end of the barrel would have to be moving towards the muzzle, or the rib would have to be sliding back, to cause that effect. Check to see if the ring is loose. Should be able to see evidence of the ring sliding forwards, with the barrel removed. If the ring is integral with the barrel, that solves that.
There is no physical way, that those two parts ever fit together flush with that amount of change in direction of the rib.
A fine toothed hacksaw blade or jewelers saw blade and a little shim stock to protect the finish of the barrel from overshooting with the saw, and a bit of sandpaper and some blacking, and you could take that wow out of the rib. Provided that the rib is flexed, rather than bent. If the rib is actually bent, it will be a bit of an SOB of a job to get it straightened.
At this stage, sending it in for warranty work seem about on par with sending a car back outside warranty, because you found a bit of trim strip poorly installed. Probably not gonna accomplish much. Maybe you will get lucky on the 'workmanship' part of the guarantee, but if it were always like that, it should have been noticed earlier, and it does not affect safe function, as is, in my opinion. Provided that there is nothing moving around, right,.
But, investigate further, to see if anything is loose or moving around. My two bits is that it has been like that from the start.
Cheers
