Is it just me or is MFS Horribly unaccurate?

Hey guys.
So I was out at the range today testing out my new optics set up on my AR. I started off shooting my PMC Xtac 55 gr and was putting down some nice groups, then I decided to try out the MFS 55 gr I just purchased(500 rounds for $219). Well holy sh!t it was like I was shooting blind folded with one arm, the groups were so spread out it looked like I was using my 870 with buckshot haha. Then after a couple mags of that junk I went back to my PMC and the groups were once again great. So I know it was not my shooting... Just wondering if I got a terrible batch or if this stuff is just garbage.

One of the owners of the gun store I deal with gave me a box of MFS to try a couple of years ago. I shot it in my Savage 10 FCP and to be honest it was pretty decent. Not as good as some but more than acceptable for plinking.

When I'm out for some percussive therapy and just want to blast rounds MFS is great, it's cheap and easy to find. That said, if I wanted to print nice groups I wouldn't use cheap and available ammo. There is a reason match ammo costs more.

It is inaccurate compared to better ammunition I believe. You get what you pay for!

Honestly, I found it extremely inconsistent from even each twenty pack box... Ugh, one box was decently accurate, the next couldn't even pattern on paper.

Like others have said it does seem a bit inconsistent to me as well. I honestly find the bulk norinco much better than the mfs. I guess you get what you pay for really, it's decent for plinking around but I'd never sight in a scope or go for great groups with it.

I have found it to be ok in my XCR getting about 3" groups..not great but ok for shooting at my metal gongs at 100 and 200 yards. I also shot a bunch of coyotes with it last fall, seemed to kill them as dead as any other round.

I just bought a Savage 10TR (Military and Law enforcement edition) First 20 rounds I put threw it were the most inexpensive federal ammo I could find (Blue box) I got my 100m zero and the following weekend I bought 40 rounds of the .308 MFS 145gr FMJ. at 550 Meters it was hitting all around the target. Just what I expected. but at 800M I was hitting the target fairly consistently. at 900 meters I had a 12" gong and I was able to hit that with my 2nd shot. I put a few more rounds on target at 900 and I was very surprised how consistent the MFS is at 900m.
