We have not had a: “Is it just me?” topic in a while. Every 1911A1 I have had worked on stayed plain and simple except for the grips. Why? I want a pistol that works all the time, has sights I can see, and hits where it is aimed. The 1911 may receive upgraded sights, new barrel, trigger job, and match bushing. Improvements are made only as required, if a handgun works when I buy it stays stock. Regards, Richard :D

Examples are my:
Systema Colt 1927 with plain Novak sights, Series 80 barrel, match bushing, and trigger job

#2 Norinco with match bushing, Novak sights, trigger group (trigger, sear, and hammer), extended grip safety:

I tend to agree with you. If it aint broke, dont fix it! If you want a gun you want to spend some time and money on to upgrade, buy a basic model, ie a Norinco 1911. If your like me and cant always be bothered to spend the time and money, but one ready to go right out of the box like my Para P14-45 LTD. Although even the Norinco is a reliable, shootable pistol right out of the box.
