Is it legal to bring back a rifle scope from the US?

I am like the guy in Post #2 - I bought several scopes on eBay that were mailed to me without issue - but like 20 years ago - the guy that I bought from mostly, will no longer try to mail to Canada. I am sure there is no troubles for you to bring it INTO Canada - it is the part about getting it OUT of USA that might be problematic - need to get their rules for that ...

Some ebay sellers have export permits or go all the way to get one. But those are few. Most won't bother. Arken scopes are fairly easy since they are made in China. Anything European made as well. I find it is not worth the hassle most of the times, and USPS rates are higher now and then you may have to pay taxes and/or wait forever. You don't want to be one of the folks posting a sad story about your order getting lost or held up or whatever.

I went through the paper work to bring scopes in from the US and it wasnt that bad. It took about a week total and now can apply for import permits when ever needed. I did it so i could bring arken scopes into ontario as it was taking way too long for dealers here to get them

Isn't there also a warranty issue with buying from a US dealer? I know a few years ago the Canadian warranty centers wouldn't deal with you unless it was bought from a Canadian dealer and some companies said they could warranty the scope in the US but couldn't ship it back to Canada again.
