Is it legal to go, target shotting on Crown land?
Where is the best place to shoot of some rounds with my Shotgun, (not offered in my club)?
and where can I find maps of crown land?
I live in the GTA.
thanks

BC is a no brainer - totally legal and common.

Ontario is a bit of a kettle of fish so to speak.

AS I UNDERSTAND IT (and i'm not a lawyer, nor do i play one on tv, nor did i stay at a holiday inn express last night) the regs for ontario claim that IF they find you with a gun in the woods, they WILL assume you are hunting.

So it is legal - but they MAY mistake you for a poacher.

Now i don't know how well that'd stand up in court, but to avoid problems, the BEST thing you can do is call the CO's for that area and discuss it with them. Ask them what they'd need to see in order to show you're just plinking.

Maybe someone from ontario with a bit more experience with this can pipe up, but it never hurts to call the co's.

In Ontario I have been told my CO's, not that they all say the same thing. That if you can prove that all you are doing is target shooting then you should be fine. If this is in the off season then I would suggest the gun encased and trigger locked, head with your targets and ammo to an area where you want to shoot. Setup the targets then get out your gun and ammo and shoot, walking around the bush and claiming target shooting would not work. Although if it is the summer and there are groundhogs if you have a small game then just say grounghog hunting. This is what I have been told but I think it would be best to call someone to be on the safe side. Another thing, if you have the option of crown close to town or further away take a drive, in southern Ontario the closer you are to people the more chance of problems, not like the north. Did I mention I want to go north, fishing in the summer hunting in the fall then snowmobiles, God I love this country.
