Is it possible to eliminate 10/22 trigger creep without buying a drop-in?

I've been working on this trigger for a little while now, trying to get it just right. All internals are Power Custom.
After the initial build, the trigger broke at a nice light weight, but quite a bit of creep remained. The second time
around, I reduced trigger spring back pressure, which reduced forward travel slightly, and at least on the bench, it was near perfect.

Today however, I took it out and shot it...and the reduced forward motion of the trigger caused the trigger not to be reset by the next round being chambered.

The hammer and sear have been lightly polished (they were decent from PC) and I don't believe whittling them down will accomplish anything as the pre-travel is my issue, not the break.

Is a Kidd or Volq drop-in group the only way to truly eliminate creep (I mean zero creep), or is there something else I can try?

The trigger pivot pin is an aftermarket unit and it's pretty snug. Maybe I'm just being overly optimistic with what's possible with the stock design.

go on the rimfire section of the forum there is a 10/22 tips and tricks. you can polish the trigger assay and ad some jb weld and smoth it out to take up the creep there is pics and a how too there go check it out . it is a must read if your a 10/22 owner.

I'd have to take mine apart to remember what exactly I did, but I drilled and tapped a couple of pieces internally for set screws. I think one was to remove slop in the disconnector and the other one was an adjustable sear engagement. I was pretty much just copying what I saw on the rim fire central board about building what they call a super stock. I also got rid of the original trigger return spring and made my own internal one from music wire in a different spot. I'll see if I can find the writeup again.

Here it is. There's a link on the last page to a PDF with intact pictures.

Slop in the disconnector would make sense. Though I'm opposed in principle to squeezing JB weld onto trigger parts, I don't see where else it would be coming from. Thanks for reminding me of the "JB" trick HeliMD, I saw it there some time ago but had forgotten.

Just put a spot of real weld where they say to put the JB and file and test until its just right. Thats how I did mine. Ps I used a mig and dropped it directly into a can of oil to keep the heat treat.

Another option for those without access to a welder is to soft solder a small pad of brass shim stock or even well cleaned thin steel to the spot. Looking at the writeup and pictures of the JBWeld trick there's lots of surface area for regular soft solder to hold just fine. And that way there's no risk of oils breaking the bond to the JBWeld over time.

Go to the last page of the thread, there's a link to download a PDF of the buildup. I downloaded it last night and looked at it before I posted it. Here's the download link from the thread.
