I just bought my friends glock 27. Still waiting on transfer and delivery. I would be looking to get a 9mm conversion barrel for it.

So instead of buying 9mm mags. Could i use the current 40sw mags and load it with 9mm and it work?

Or

Am stuck buying g26 mags to shoot my conversion barrel.

This reason i love CGN. When you dont know the answer of compatibility. You can always post a thread and get help from your fellow canadians.

This is entirely (probably) not relevant to your question, but on my Glock 20 I have a .40 conversion barrel and use the original G20 mags with zero issues.

I also use Beretta 96 (in .40) in my Beretta 92 with zero issues.

my suspicion is that it will work, but you might have the occasional misfeed (worse case)

They will generally work. Fine enough for plinking, but certainly not reliable for competition.

That's my understanding, too.

I’ve played with .40 Glock mags loaded with 9mm. They work reasonably well if loaded to 10 or less. The more you stuff, the more acute the angle of the round, almost like they’re pointing up. I can see a problem with feeding with this issue.
For guns that can interchange mags, I would highly recommend using metal lip ones. The smaller diameter of the 9mm, when stuffed past 10 may auto-eject at the wrong time! They will also spew if dropped.

Thanks. I will look into it. I saw a ad many months back on EE where someone reference using there 40sw mags for there beretta and glock but i wasnt sure if that would be the case here.

I am fine without not using a full 10rds. I have mostly only been shooting my beretta type M, hk45c and my 1911 so am used to shooting 8rds.

I hear that all the time but I've been using .40 mags in my G22 with 9mm conversion barrel for matches for a couple of years...Never had an issue...and I get an extra round. Maybe i'm lucky but no spillage or popping out of rounds either.

I have the same set up with the same gun. I’ve never had one actually spew when loading. But definitely if I drop a loaded mag, even on carpet. Not all the time, but it does happen. I use OEM Glock mags.
I’ve just never trusted using 9mm in .40 mags during competition. We are limited to 10+1 in IDPA anyways so there is no reason to use a .40 mag and risk a malfunction.

What kind of matches are allowing more then 10 rds in a mag.
