I have a hunting rifle that so far has only taken one animal in two years, i have another that every single time i have taken it out in 4 years has resulted in meat in the freezer.

So the question is it possible to have a jinxed rifle?

Yes. I'm a big believer in good/bad juju. Maybe it's just a state of mind thing, but it's strange how things play out sometimes. I ditched a bad juju rifle once.

I've always felt there were lucky and unlucky rifles and rods. It's not that they necessarily shoot better, but some pile up bodies while others just seem to go for walks.
It doesn't take long before the "walkers" start staying home more, and the prophesy fullfills itself when the "killers" go hunting instead.
Oddly, my normal base belief is a man makes his own luck. Go figger.

I have a "cursed" Finnbear in 06'. I've had it for...4(?) years and have only seen two deer with it.

Funny you should bring this up. I purchased a Savage 99 adecade ago from an old fella that told me that" this gun always gets it's deer " My BIL and myself hunted this area for years and always seen very good sign of big deer in the area but never had contact with one....Until I took that 99 to the gully for the first time. I'm not into
superstition but it makes you scratch you head !

I don't suscribe to the "jinxed" rifle theory in any way, shape or form. I do not believe it has anything to do with the firearm you are carrying or the person you hunt with [unless he/she is a noisy, bumbling idiot] Sometimes the game is there and you see it.....other times it is simply elsewhere. I usually hunt by myself the other person being noisy can be removed from the equation.

Sounds like my golf clubs...they are jinxed too. Maybe you are on to something. Problem is, I just got these clubs because my last set was jinxed also. If I go out and get another set of golf clubs, my marriage will be jinxed!!!

The kicker to this is also the one that always gets the animals was free, the other is a $1300 gun / scope package.
