Went to a show, and found this gun... It caught my eye so i asked if you could take a look, he explained the short action and he had it out last week to shot it.

He took the zip tie off, and turns out it was jammed, the lever wouldnt budge an inch. He wanted $190 for it working, but told me he'd sell it to me for $100 as is, or he'd take it to a smith and sell it to me at an inflated price.

I've thought about it for a week, and maybe i should go with my first impressions.

What do you all think? would the lever problem be an easy fix? he said the other stock screw is under the lever. I've looked at pictures online, tougher than i thought.

My Dad's 336 was the same way and I just took it apart and cleaned the crud out and it works fine. The stock screw on marlins is removed from the top not from under the lever, so taking it apart should by simple. For $100 i would buy it and strip and clean it, if all else fails you could part it out and make your money back.

The lever is stuck closed. wont move an inch, gonna be tuff to get to the stock screw under it.

Still thinking and pondering on this one...

A link to the fix would be nice, i did watch a video on youtube...

I have parts for a Levermatic. Most of the action. Bolt is missing firing pin and extractors, but all the other working parts seem to be there. If you get it, and need parts , drop me a PM.
