I have a line on a Colt King Cobra, It's in beautiful shape Stainless etc. chambered in .357.

The down side is it's a 4" model and I am not a 12(anything)

Ball Park, how much would it cost to re-barrel it, is it even worth it?

How much is a gently loved Colt King Cobra with a 4 1/4" barrel (or 5" or 6") worth?

Thanks for the replies fellas!

Cheers!

The King Cobra did not come in a 4.5 or 5 inch barrel so if you wanted one that short you would have to have it cut down from a 6 or 8 inch barrel gun. And that would not look good because the roll mark will be off centre. As far as I know no one sells new 6 inch barrels as that gun has been out of production you many years. You "might" find one by posting a want to buy ad on the Colt Forum, but i wouldn't hold my breath. My advice-- keep looking for a 6 inch barrel gun, they are out there.
That being said I might be interested in the 4 inch gun you mention. Yes, I'm 12-6 licenced. Please send me a PM with more info.

Well to be honest the idea I had was to put a 5" target barrel on the darn thing, or maybe get a comp installed on the barrel to make it longer.

Unfortunatly rfo the guy who owns it is not willing to sell it over the phone or internet..... I will ask him to see if it is ok if I give you his ph#..... I won't see him for probably a week or two, so be patient.

Cheers!

Putting a comp on the end of the barrel will NOT make it restricted.
You would have to rebarrel it or I could buy it dirt cheap:p
