Is it worth putting a chassis on a HUNTING rifle?

It is definitely perception.. Perceptions aren't facts.
A wood stock at -20 is -20, as is anything else. Sitting anywhere would be the same. it isn't warmer... unless it is. It has nothing to do with what anyone thinks. It is a fact.
Wood isn't "better". It's just wood. It has it's limitations as does any other material.
If a perception is what keeps you warm, then have at it.

Composite stocks mostly have a thin layer of glas or carbon with foam behind it, similar foam as used in thermal insulation applications. Body Temp only needs to warm up a very small amount of material.... as if putting a cold glove on.

Ahhh yes. The thermal conductivity and tongue test... and body temp warming? Transfers heat away faster? Using your own logic the aluminum would actually heat faster? Thats how high thermal conductivity works. It doesn't get to pick which way it goes. The tongue thing works because of moisture... not necessarily material. Other materials are better than others.
None of that changes that all are still -20. Even the best piece of insulation would still be -20. Feelings aren't facts.

Never said it wasn’t fact!! And of course you are right or you think you are right! Now you go outside at -20 since that’s the temps you are using, and grab a piece of aluminum tubbing in one hand and a piece of wooden dowel in the other, and then tell me that your hand with the aluminum tube isn’t colder than the piece with the wooden dowel. Just try it for real in real life conditions and you will find that perceptions becomes facts in a hurry!!

You're talking about feelings again. Both pieces will be -20... The hand will also be as equally as cold, as both pieces are the same temp. The problem is... everyone’s hand is different. The perception is different. The temperature is the same.
It doen't matter about being right. It is right..
While two materials can "feel" like they are different temperatures, they most assuredly are not. If one believes that one is warmer than the other, then it will most likely "feel" that way.
Not liking a chassis because "it feels cold" is very silly. Not liking anything because of "how it feels" is also very silly. Like or dislike something based on facts, or don't... Just don't dress up opinion as fact

So what you are saying that we should never buy or use something cause it feels better? That is sillyness at its best. That means a rifle that doesn’t feel good because it doesn’t fit doesn’t matter it is just feelings?
The reason I said go out and try it in real life is you will find that the piece of aluminum not only will feel colder but will stay that way and cool off your hand more unless you can cover the entire piece in your hand and that is something you can’t do with a rifle stock!
Anyway you are of course right!
So have fun with your chassis rifles! I will with my classic rifles in wooden stocks!

The thermal conductivity of wood and metal are vastly different. It “feels” different because it is

Buying a rifle that doesn't "feel" right is silly, Buying one that doesn't fit, would be fact... Fit can be measured. They aren't the same.
The aluminum... the longer you hold on to it, will actually get warmer... as it pulls the heat from your hand. That's why your hand feels cold. The wood will do the same... it just takes longer.
The being right thing has nothing to do with me. Nor should it.
There are all sorts of rifles in the safe. Some have wood, glass, fibre, plastic, and aluminum. All do things differently than the other. None of those things have anything to do with feelings. Not a single one.

Correct... Thermal Conductivity can be measured. How it feels... can't readily be applied.
Not carrying or using the right, or proven better tool for the job, because of how it feels?
C.mon now… That’s not something that makes sense. Especially when that is the reason given for not using it.
Just say you don't like it. Or better yet, don't.
