is it worth reloading 223?

Worth it for the accuracy. Every 1/9 twist I have loves 68/69 BTHP with a full case of Varget for accuracy loads. Can also load everything from frangible, to solids, to green tips, much more variety and accuracy out of my loads vs factory.
For cheap, I still have some 9cent SS109's and WC735 that was $7/lb so even just for plinking it can be loaded for next to nothing...223/556 brass is free basically.

is this including Powder and primer?

an do we factor in Brass cost or is that basically '$.0c' after initial firing, speaking of once fired factory perhaps?

i was working out my costs the other day.......... im interested in hearing the answer here from Canada, where the prices vary much more in favour of the shooter.... here we get a bit price jacked, but the factory ammo is crazy that reloading is almost always cheaper even without going the whole hog an bulk option with 1000 pieces of all for bargain pricing.

so , yup, im keen to know!

i think ive worked out my .222 to reload is around 50c without factoring brass cost. Vmax 55gr - 17.5gr AR2207- SR primer...

Sorry, haven't noticed this until now. I'll answer your question.

I used Dillon's cost calculator. I included powder @ $50/lb, primer @ $4/100 and bullet @ $17/100. Brass is free. I pick up a few hundred at my range each time I go.

Case of 1000 PMC bronze FMJ is $500 right now at FOC. I'm saving $110/1000 (and using soft point). That translates to $1100/year for me.

Handload for accuracy, I only enjoy shooting when Im accurate. Ive never found a factory load thats better than moa in my particular 1:7 bolt. My loads are under 1/4 to 1/2moa and cost .59 cents a round including taxes. Guess it depends what your into....hitting a 10" ring or making single ragged 10 shot holes. How do you put a price on hapiness.

Exactly, whatever makes you happy!

I enjoy reloading, gives me something productive, gun related to do when I can't go to the range.

It's just like baking a cake or pie, why would you bake one if you don't enjoy baking..

Good post that does honest math to show why you reload .223! Everyone has their own rational but clearly the math works for you, and me too!
