Is it worth upgrading from a S&W 226 to a 2206?

I currently own a 622 6 inch barrel and have a chance to buy a 2206 with a 6 inch barrel. Both guns have adjustable sights the only difference I can see is that my gun has the wooden grips and the 2206 does not. Does the extra weight of the 2206 help in accuracy? are there any other benefits of a 2206 over a 622? The owner claims the gun is in very good condition with only about 500 rounds through it, but he has a problem with bulk ammo and recommends using only the good stuff. My 622 works well with anything I feed it.The price is reasonable and I can probably sell the 622 for what it will cost for the 2206. Unfortunately I do not know anyone that owns one and don't have a chance to hold one or fire one to see for myself. If you have experience with both guns, I'd like your opinion if there's any difference between these two guns shooting at the range.

I used to own a 2206.
If your 622 works well don't bother 'upgrading' to a gun that's more temperamental with ammunition.
Theoretically the extra weight might help a bit with accuracy, but it's a .22LR.

Before I sold mine, I wished I had bought the lighter frame 422 with shorter barrel.

Dont bother. I owned 2 x 2206 and sold them. I still have a 422. I didnt notice a lick of difference in accuracy due to a bit of extra weight. If your current gun runs good, just carry on.

the only difference that i know of between the 622 and the 2206 is that the 622 has the alloy body and stainless slide where the 2206 the entire gun is stainless - hence the noticeable weight difference.

ive got the 422 and the 622 myself.

these guns are a real niche pistol.
people love to collect them.

for what they sell for - if it was me - id keep the 622 and add the 2206 as well.
its not like they are making them anymore!!!
