Is it wrong to buy a gun just so I can look at it?

It's a cool gun, but personally I would buy a Glock and a .44 Mag revolver for the same price. I have shot a couple of them, and while they are fun, there are better guns out there.

The advantage of a semi-auto is that there is less recoil. I can handle a Desert Eagle .44 Magnum with full-power .44 Mag, but not a .44 Magnum revolver. Only takes a few cylinderfuls for me to give up with the revolver.

I once bought a painting for the same reason. Now it just hangs there and is not much good for anything else. The DE could start out that way but imagine the joy when one day you shoot it and go," Shiite! Look at what else it does!" :D Put yourself out of misery - go forth and procure the sucker!

P.S. Anyone want to buy a painting?

I dress up like a Mall Ninja and stare at myself in the mirror LIKE A GOD!!!!!!!!!And then my wife calls the Police!!

My wife just snickers at me....

Actually, I just bought my first truly collectable non shooter...a new in the box, never fired 70's era Belgian Hi-Power....it's puurrrddddyyyyy!!! :D

Airsoft is like masterbation, a substitute for the real thing.

Notice nobody ever admits to masterbating... well, publically.

There is nothing wrong with owning an Airsoft DE, you're just living the fantasty at 1/10th the cost.

Me? I got married, and I paid full price. Who's dumber?

LOL.

The very thought of buying a gun just to look at makes me sick to my stomach.

   Buy it, Look at it then get out and Shoot it.............

My mom has fancy furniture in her living room that was sat on twice: once for my high school grad and the second time for my wedding.

If you want it get it. It's your money. Who cares how much you use it?

 wow that looks pretty real...

DE is a fan gun to shoot not just to look at  If you’re getting one don't get the .50ae get a .44mag ammo is a LOT cheaper but the recoil is not that different. Or you can buy one in 357mag that way the ammo isn’t that bad after all.

or why not just start reliading

good point. If your not gonna shoot it, and you just want it to look @ get a 1:1 full sized air soft replica. then you dont even have to put it in the safe.... Hang it up on the wall.

Does it still have the plastic on it?

Yeppers, anyone notice the plastic texturing inside the grooves of the slide? I'm an airsofter, comes to ya after a while. ;)

From what I can remember, the grooves on the real-deal are milled, or at least cast. Even my ####ty chinese pot-metal castings look better than that.

Funny story on the furniture stuff, my mom covered up her couch for the past twenty years, and only two years ago did she take them off when they were relegated to the rec room, as a 3 pc. leather set came in our house.

Surprisingly, the leather isn't shrink-wrapped.

Muzzle brake?

I've shot all 3 - not a whole bunch, but I did get to shoot them back to back!!! I'd personally go for the .44, the .50 really isn't pleasant (not really recoil as much as torque- those suckers twist) and the .357 is like a .22 for recoil. You could shoot the .44 all day and since you have to use full power loads its still plenty strong. If you're going to buy one I would suggest getting a reloading set up, you'll find yourself shooting it a lot. If you don't want to spend a fortune on ammo, I would resist the temptation to take it out at all - once you've shot it and had everyone on the line look at it and say "Holy S*#t" you'll be out with it all the time.
