is kel-tec sub 2000 legal in canada?

Not trying to hi-jack this thread, but just the other day in one of my gun magazines, I saw a Kel-Tec pistol in .22 magnum. Now I see it on the site and wonder, because I have never seen one until now, have they ever been imported to canada? This is only a mini-hijack, as the OP's question has been partially answered. This is a link from the site of the pistol. I think it looks neat, and I WANT ONE. Any one know if I can , and if so, HOW and WHERE.

I had a non-restricted sub-9 folder (older brother to 2000). it was a very reliable gun and fun to shoot ...can't see why the 2000 series would be anything but restricted or non with the right barrel ...if I could find another that took S&W 59 mags I would buy it again ...they are very smokey to shoot though...

Kel-Tec Sub 2000

I have a non-restricted one (SW mag) and a restricted one (G17 mag). The only dislike is the gas from the ejection port tends to rise into your right eye when shooting (much like the Tavor). They're very compact and accurate to 50yds.

When I talked to the distributor they said the guns have been aproved by the rcmp.As for when they get up here I hope it is soon as well.

I remember people saying you had to be in law enforcement or the military to qualify for the LEO end use requirement that they were putting on these things. Man, a bullpup .308 would be the ultimate firearm for Canada. Will these be availible to civilians?

The hard part before was getting export permits. I have tried before and wasn't able. I will try again soon.

Did this go any further (concerning the RFB)? There was a distributor a couple days ago claiming to have them coming in August but that thread got locked and posts deleted...I'm trying to gauge if anyone else has had any luck...or are they (RFB's) just vapourware for now?

For those that didn't read a post a few days ago "yes" the Sub2000 is coming. We had it approved with a non restricted classification a few months ago. Vault is the exclusive distributor of Kel-Tec in Canada. Kel-Tec is manufacturing the Sub2000 and the RFB for us with 18.5" barrels. I think I covered most of the details in the other post.

"No" direct retail sales through us though guys, but we will be glad to point you in the direction of a dealer hopefully near you.

Vault Distribution will have dealer status on here very soon.

Thanks

Now that's what I was looking to find out...I'll definitely be inquiring tomorrow!

I will keep the posts on here to a minimum until we get our dealer status. For those looking for more information feel free to contact our offices or send us an email. Ask for Steve if you contact the office.

Thanks
