Is Lapua brass soft?

why not talk to savage? having pressure sign with factory ammo is not normal.
They should ream it back.

Contact Savage and tell them about the short throat, seating deeper decreases case capacity and increases chamber pressure.

The number to the right of the listed powder is the fps change for each degree change in temp.

The primers are flattening with some radius left and I get either a full or partial circle on the rim of the case.

So far I haven't thought of contacting Savage since I'm sure any sort of resolution from them would be a long time coming. I might be able to get access to a pull through reamer so I would go that route and fix the issue myself. So far I've burned up a lot of time and components doing unsuccessful load development and I would prefer to just get it fixed and move on.

Why a pull through reamer? All you need is a throater and an extension. 5 minute job.
If you use a chambering reamer, either conventional or pull, the reamer may cut more than just the throat.

Some of the reviews on that rifle say that Savage had issues with chamber size, although I didn't think the .308's were a problem.
They will most likely fix it if you ask, but the turnaround time may not be ideal. No harm in asking unless you know a competent gunsmith who'll do the job quickly and inexpensively.
