Is Marstar a good place or order from?

+1. your grips and stuff like that are different because of the wider mag well. you MIGHT face difficulty finding aftermarket parts for it. I have a single stack, so I haven't looked into the aftermarket offerings for the high capacity versions. Kimber make a high-cap 1911 as well, so there might be some stuff!
 
I've dealt with them a couple of times...email is minimalist but phone service is prompt and efficient. Will deal with again...just waiting on those (can't comment) M1 Garand/Carbine's and surplus .308/.30 Carbine ;)
 
I got my gun without even talking to anybody.
just fill the email form and wait for the post man. Doesn't get any easier in my opinion
