Well today I think I discovered why my cz 452 American is such a good shooter with eley club ammo .I can not close the bolt on a 39 thousands whidden headspace gauge . On the other hand my new 457 varmint goes all the way to 43 thousands before it will not close .looks like I will be adding a 2 thousands bolt shim when they arrive . Picture below is the 452 using eley club .

452s are the best built CZ rimfires ever by a "long shot" imo. On my 3rd 457 and still dont care for them much.
Took a new to me CZ 452 Style .22LR out to the range a couple of weeks ago for sight in and shoot. 17th CZ rimfire I've owned. CCI 36gr mini mags = 5 inside a dime at 50 yds. I think Ill keep it. The 452 Varmints are exceptional shooters as well.

I owned the same model in both 22 and 17HMR and both are extremely accurate. The 22 even shot CCI blazers very well which was ice since they were $30 a brick at the time. Same fellow bought both of them!

I have Tikkas and Anschutz as well. CZ 452 and 455 are much tighter. Zero issues running a standard cleaning rod and nylon brush down Tikka/Anschutz barrels. Almost impossible to get a .22 brush, especially an IOSSO down a 452/455 without using a hammer. - Engraving the Rifling: The "tightness" or heavy bolt lift you feel when closing the bolt is intentional. The lead bullet is slightly wider or longer at the driving band, meaning the rifling physically cuts into and engraves the bullet as the cartridge chambers.
