Is my gun approved for use in "Production"?

I have been shooting Bullseye for the past few years and would like to give one of the action shooting games a try. I recently bought a Sig P226 Elite, but I don't see that particular model on the approved list, yet its not on the disallowed list either.

Anyone have any info on whether this Sig is or will be approved for use in production?

Thanks,

RPM

As long as the grips do not add or remove any extra "grooves" etc. Pretty much it has to be the exact same dimensions and design of the original grips.

As to the original topic, I believe if it's not on the production list it would be classified under "Standard" division. Try contacting your regional director, if it doesn't satisfy you contact the main IPSC body to have the list amended.

Amazing how many times these same two questions come up, and the answer is still the same, and still availble by a simple search

Well I spent about 4 hours last night on this "simple search", and was unable to find anything.
The first place I checked was IPSC's website, and looked at the Production division list.

The P226 Elite is not listed on the approved section of the list, however, they also list the Sigs which are not approved, and its not on that list either.

I figured since its a fairly new model, that may be the reason its not approved yet.

Sorry to draw your attention away from other meaningful posts ckc123!

There is a simple set of rules for production.. if a gun is not specifically listed then it's not allowed.. if a "change" to your firearm is not specifically listed, then it's not allowed. it's a simple concept.. you are only allowed to do what is exactly listed in production. If it's not there. then the answer is "No.".
