Is NEA okay now ?

I can understand the issues with the holes and such but the glossy spots just look like oil to me...

Yeah that is definitely just oil, too funny. I have that same ambi safety and rarely wear gloves....NEA has come out with a new ambi safety according to their FB page that appears more rounded so thechineseguy's baby-soft hands should be safe...I'm surprised he didn't also complain about the non-milspec elastic band that was through the trigger guard!

And comments like "i heard that there were quite a few that NEA "forgot" to drill gas ports." are very helpful. I once heard of this ghost gun that could fire a 30 caliber clip of 30 rounds in half a second! :d.

Seriously though, I can't recall ever hearing about NEA forgetting to drill gas ports - if there were quite a few of those I would expect we would have heard about it on CGN. Can anyone confirm this?

With so many great entry level AR's for a couple of hundred more I just don't get why people still get burnt with this junk.

I purchase a DD complete lower for 500$ and a used DD M4 V2 flat top, for another $700. A complete DD AR for 1300$ all in. There are deals to be found.

Checked out a new one locally today. Upper to lower fit was pretty sloppy, finish was missing in multiple locations, plenty of machining marks on the exterior finish - kind of left it at that.

Exactly. I personally wouldn't risk buying any NEAs online (actually i wouldn't touch any NEA manufactured firearm again), only from retail and after inspection with a caliper gauge and a bore-scope.

My new upper had no staking on the BCG, that is a sign of shoddy quality control in place.. There was also some kind of white substance stuffed in-between the hand guard and receiver to keep it inline with the barrel. I never seen anything like that on any AR.

Bought a 7.5 NEA with CCS stock.

First 200 rounds, I was like "see? NEA is not bad at all!"

Then BCG broke in half (the special buffer tip broke away from the bcg) after 200 rounds, NEA repaired the BCG for me but man it took a while.

Then the CCS stock button got broken under recoil, and the pin between collapsing rod and stock got loose and fell out. NEA sent me a new Stock Assembly with new button design. Took a while.

Personally I think NEA got good looking guns, but as for reliability and durability, no comment. The finish looks nice but easily scratched. The fit is tight tho, no wobble between upper and lower.

Now I am using heavily customized Norinco CQ-A, it works.

I finally had a chance to take my new NEA15 out last night. Below is the link to the little range report that i did. If your not into reading it i can sum it up quick. 100 round... No issues so far.

As I mentioned on your thread, 7000 rounds, no problem yet. I'll be sure to report if I do have issues.

I'm not much of a AR15 guru though. I don't have as many specific preferences as if it was a bolt action hunting rifle. :)
