i was talking to a weapon tech today and he told me PGW was going under and that there were almost no spare parts left for timberwolf rifles, and that many of them are now in racks for lack of parts.

is this so or just misinformation.

i know they use sako extractors and those are hard to get in bulk.

but W/E the canadians should switch to the TRG 42 half the price and 5 pounds lighter fully loaded.

A TRG was in the trials for the new forces sniper rifle but the T-Wolf obviously was selected.

they are doing just fine. they just donated one of their Timberwolves to the BC Tac Rifle Championships.

Where did this information come from ? As a business owner, i would be most pissed if someone was saying that I was "going under". It's rude, it's unnecessary, and it puts unnecessary strain on an industry that is already busy and not in a position to devote time and energy to bullsh*t claims

This submission is unsubstantiated BS and should be removed.

A BIG reason the timberwolf was chosen over the TRG is because it is a canadian rifle.! the canadian military has this thing that funds being spent for military use needs to be 100% manufactured in canada meaing canadian money stays in canada. COLT found a loop hole in this by buying out damaco "spelling" and creating colt canada.

Also the bisiness respoinsible for doing the early trials for the trg "nickles" did a pisspoor job i guess canada is happy for the time being with there overweight over priced rifles.

Hane6661. Evidently you know nothing about the trials it wasn't one person, there is no buy Canadian rule (may have been a factor) or they wouldn't have had the TRG in the competition.

Nickels and Beretta are companies not people

hane6661, what part did you play in the decision process? I dealt with all rifle manufactures and guess what? The Timberwolf won and a respected Finnish engineer and writer also rated The Timberwolf above the Sako and all other sniper rifles in all regards in a European magazine article.

Mentioning this goes against my genral rule not to discuss military business. We've gone from PGWDTI going out of business BS to Sako being superior to the Timberwolf(BS) and experts in the DND acquisition process.

Perhaps we can meet the Candian International Sniper Concentration?

iv got nothing against the timberwolf other than iam a sako fan.

i had no part in the trials whats so ever, and know NOTHING ABOUT THEM. iam simply voicing my opion based opon what iv herd.

and considering the source of my infromation it was made clear to me that the previous person incharge of creating interest and support for the trg did not do his job properly.

that being said i know nothing of the trials other than the timberwolf is canadian made and canadian money stays in canada gave the timberwolf a big advantage.

That comment was referring to the entire thread that was spreading a rumour that PGW was going out of business. I don't think it had much to do with your comments. Your big comment came after that post anyways.

You've certainly been spouting a fair bit of random gun store BS lately, don't be surprised when you get called on it.
