Is pistol reloading done for?

I should also add I've never paid more than $32/lb for any type of powder.

And yes I realize I'm a hoarder.[/QUOTE]

I refuse to pay these ridiculously marked up prices. With such demand the powder companies should really start to up production. I'm good for a bit so luckily I don't have to cave and pay an arm and leg. Hoping I can still get powders at a fair price when my local shop gets some back in stock.

i just clean out the 10 local stores to me,

just kidding, those are all empty. it's what i've gone through in my reloading career over the last 3-4 years. i was lucky and started right before all these shortages although i've only got 4lbs of h110 left... my 500 is very hungry!

Hey all,

Well, I'm down in Florida right now. Been here for about two months, still can't find any powders to reload 38/357 with. Heck, even went to a gun show this passed weekend, wasn't a jar of nothing in sight. So if a guy can't even find powder down deep in the US, does that mean pistol reloading is done for for us guys up north? I mean, I'm sure you guys who stocked up are set for awhile. But guys like me who happened to dip they're toe into reloading and made an investment, kinda find it frustrating.

For the record........Lee hand press, lucked out with some lb of tight group which I'm half way through, loading both 38 special and 357 mag for my Marlin 1894 CB 24".

Thanks.

Ti

I don't know if reloading is done but my tinfoil hat is humming...
I'd like to know what total powder production has been over the last 20 years, this supply issue seems that it has gone on longer than good business would need to ramp up to satisfy demand...
Unless strange games are afoot (i.e: I might not be able to stop you from having a car with a 454 in it, but I can price gas so far out of touch you can't use it. Or Chris Rock's old comedy routine of don't ban guns- make bullets $5000 each). There are very few powder manufacturers and they reside in the peripheral...Makes you start to wonder if the anti's changed strategy.
But that's fuel for the tinfoil hat...

dude your killin me here. I cant find the stuff anyplace. I'm just starting into reloading so this is a huge bump in the road for me. Someone was nice enough to PM me with a part bottle of STEEL that I'm hoping I can manage to get. There are some great people on this forum!

Not to worry - it was the same guy selling it and no one buying it, so it was just a few pounds. I just don't want to work up loads for new powders so long as I can find the good stuff here n there
