Is powder still in short supply?

Just came from Edmonton, and yes, powder is very short every where. They all mentioned they are waiting for a shipment in the fall !

All the fav's powders are out of stock in most of the GTA stores ie Unique, H4895, Benchmark, Varget, Universal, IMR 4895, TightGroup, Bullseye. :(

I bet some will get laughts out of this but please take into consideration that I am new to reloading.

According to my stash of Hodgon powder, it is packaged in the US but is in fact manufactured in Australia. Perhaps this could have something to do with it?..... *shrugs*

I've buy every single contend of TiteGroup, Universal, Unique and HP38 that I could find in Quebec City. Last time I've checked, I've found some at the Canadian Glock Distributor in Drummondville, Qc. They were the only place stocking small pistol primers at less than 250km of Quebec city.

Local shop got a shipment, I almost s**t myself when I looked and saw varget. They have a 2lb per type per customer limit otherwise they have c**ts ready to buy them out of every good powder they get. They treat their customers better than that so everyone gets some. The only thing left for me to stock up on is bullets now, got tons of powder and primers.

There are a few places in Southern Ontario that have powder but what I find is the only places that have the popular stuff left are also the most expensive. If you guys are really hurting for Hodgdon, Canadian Tire has SKU's for them. You can look them up online and see whether your local store will order it in for you.

I find it hard to pay 30-33 bucks a pound for 4350 from Cdn Tire or that place in Hamilton when I am used to paying 19 bucks a pound for it. Tomorrow I am going to pickup 19 pounds of powder and then hopefully more later on this week depending on what's coming in.

We're now feeling the aftershocks from the shortage down south. The popular powders are going to be mythical creatures for a little while I'd guess.
