IS SK Flatnose being Discontinued

Just picked up 1000rds of flatnose basic and when looking for spec on SK website I could not find it.

Found the data on an us site but wondering if that line is discontinued

I think I heard somewhere that it was (maybe a year ago?) but I keep seeing it for sale. I have a rifle that likes it.

According to Nammo Lapua's Janne Boström, Sales and Marketing Manager, SK no longer produces Flatnose ammo.

Dealers who still have Flatnose available, have old stock. The ammo hasn't been made for about a year, perhaps a little longer.

That's to bad. My new ruger liked the SK Flatnose and I saw Cabela's had a bunch last time I went in so I bought a couple boxes. I may have to go back or find another option

Flat nose worked well for me but maybe the replacement is Flatnose Match, doesn’t matter when I can’t find any of my preferred SK in bulk.

Well finally got my wish list fulfilled by Tesro, lots of SK Rifle Match and some SK long range match and Lapua centerX. So far it’s promising but can only go to 100 yards or 50 indoors. I asked the owner of Tesro where all the good rimfire stuff from Europe goes and he said to the USA.

Well crap, my rifle really likes SK flat nose. I did pick up some SK long range match to try, and it seems good too, but it's significantly more expensive. I didn't buy enough if the flat nose to bother with figuring out dope, so I guess I'll just keep it for close range stuff. The couple groups I shot at 100m today with the SK long range match were just a hair under 1 moa for 10 shots each, so it should do pretty good.

If memory serves, there was a Flatnose "Basic" and a Flatnose "Match" at one point. Haven't seen the MATCH in a long time, still seeing BASIC on shelves.

Since this was a design originally advanced by Eley through research and development, might there have been some patent infringement.

So many times a good idea appears to have died when there is a behind the scenes issue that was never disclosed.

Just a thought . . .
