Is SKS still a good buy?

I have supported three or four guys from work who got their PAL's (helped them find a place, suggested guns, sold them guns cheap, etc.) One I sold a honey of a 1951 non-refurbished SKS for much less than $200. Another went out and bought a nice 1955 SKS and loves it. They are a perfect beginners rifle, low recoil, they come with a cleaning kit and a nice sling, plus they are cheap to feed.

Go get one now, before liberals ban them.

SKS is the cheapest semi-auto rifle you can get on the market, and it is of good quality and very reliable. Get one before too late.

As stated above. Every home should have one...or maybe several. Eventually the supply will dry up. It was not so long ago when Lee-Enfield rifles and Garand rifles were everywhere and darned cheap. Not any more. Your children will thank you.

I'm wondering how much more time we will be able to enjoy the SKS and other semi autos. Seems like last fall's rumors about having them taken away by the liberals may be coming true.

You should buy several of them just to keep them off the books. Besides they are the best valued firearm on the market. Just don't waste money on mods.

I just sold 4 of mine, all blued, cartouche in place just mismatched mags $275 each at a local gun show, should have been $325. So the price isn't rising much, due to the Chinese refurbs in and threat of a Trudeau ban/prohib! I don't think they will go up much till that is over and the supply dwindles, of course there are no Russian sks left for sale in the gun stores just Chinese. I wouldn't have sold those but had a couple bill to pay and my sons wives/girlfriends aren't into firearms,,, yet, so thinning the herd just a smidge!

A beater SKS will shoot tighter groups, and be more reliable, than a $1,000+ Mini-30. Seen it happen at the range more times than I can count.

Anyone who thinks they're crap guns, can feel free to drop all that extra cash on a Ruger.

Ruger mini 14 is in the same class with SKS. Compared with SKS, mini 14 is expensive, heavy, and easily get jammed. Ruger was in the danger of going out of business after Chinese and Russian firearms entered US market back in 90s. The solution? Ruger lobbied congress to ban all the imports from China and Russia.

Mini is heavy? They weigh less than 6 1/2lbs. SKS is 8 1/2lbs. Easily get jammed? Pretty clear that you don’t own or have never used a Mini 14/30.

SKS is a fantastic bargain but a Mini 30 killer it is not. Both have their markets.

All guns I buy are compared to the Russian SKS for a standard of quality. If it's not equal or better in fit and finish of a nice Russian SKS I dont want it.

SKS is a great little rifle for entering the sport and as a fun rifle to challenge yourself with accuracy.

Love my sks's, i have one letter serie russian in immaculate condition and one in a tapco stock (for sale right now). i shoot some x39 everytime i go to the range and i love it. plan on bringing it deer hunting for sure.
