Is something wrong with Robinson Arms XCR rifles?

personally, I think the xcr is simply over priced, why pay 2 grand plus for one when i can get a great ar for around 1500, or a decent one for 700... and ARs have more features, and better controls IMO (ie built in recoil managment)

sure its nice to take it to the woods, but id target shoot with the thing, not hunt, im sure its a decent gun tho, just big bucks for one...

had a buddy buy one and hes like "its almost as good as my AR, but four times as $... at least I can go out to shoot in the woods"

then he asked if I wanted to buy it haha

if it was a more reasonable price id buy one

I wish! If that actually happened I would take my AR-15 money and donate it all to the CPC..... seriously.

stoppages and jams,,, hmmm sounding like a familiar trend with these rifles, i will spend my 2,500$$$ on norinco stuff, prolly the smartest thing to do with all the JUNK flooding the market these days, its a shame really that my norinco products are working and running smoother then smith, rem, HK, products that ive owned

Mr. Bernardo himself alluded to a few things we should be pushing for this past week on Canadian Reload Radio, regarding the need for the government to take another look at classifications, and, at the very least, apply the rules as spelled out in C68 evenly accross the board, including firearms that were restricted/prohibited by name, type prior to C68.

This is the type of thing we should be asking of our government....
 
i know i know,, i thought it was a bold statement and chuckled a bit, but for real guys its true,, ive seen nothing but issues with the hot new products ( and trust me ive dumped alot of $$ into these) so much that im starting to hate buying the hot new trendy stuff that falls apart on me a week or month after i buy it. and i honestly have not ran into any issues with my norinco AR, so say what you will about norinco and laugh with me cuz im laughing at myself for saying this ,, but NORINCO WINS in my book.
 
My Robarms M96 was excellent even when it broke :D


Called Robarms chatted with some floor manager about life for 45 minutes, very helpfull in sorting out my problem and answeing all my questions. Even though I was the 2nd owner, I was told to send the broke piston back to Wolverine for not only the rifle upgrades but a new piston. Cost me shipping and that was it. Rifle was excellent and lots of fun to play with chasing coyotes.

For some really dumb reason I went out and sold it :( I have no reason why I did that. Man, I wish I would have kept that one.


I just don't like the look of the XCR otherwise it's a fine platform.

not busting Ba*** i have heard lots about loc-tite for XCR's

i have 2 one in.223 and one in 7.62x39 and i never had to use a drop of loc-tite on either gun.

just torqe the bolts to spec and your good to go

It's all good. I have Norinco's as well and they work fine. Not near as nice as my other North American stuff that works just as good though. Maybe you had a couple lemons.:D

I think reclassification is a double edged sword ... It could lead to all semi auto rifles be restricted.

No, it couldn't. Not under the current government but under future lefty governments that is already going to happen so we might as well have talks with a government that is on our side for once.

There's nothing to disagree or agree over. It's not like either of you is saying your experience dictates the other fellows experience. Facts are facts. You had different experiences. Neither of your experiences dictate what everyone else's will be.

For some small percentage of people, they have screws come loose and locktite them as the solution. There's been no in-depth analysis done by anyone which proves that re-torquing to spec upon delivery or discovery does not resolve the loose-screw problem. Now ANY gun I have owned - Sig pistols, Winchester rifles, Fabarm Shotties - have all had loose screws after shooting a few hundred rounds out of the box without checking screws first. Re-torquing them always fixes the problem and keeps the problem fixed. "Loose screws" is not a problem endemic to the XCR.

After about 1500 rounds, I had the bolt on the bottom of the bolt release mechanism come a little loose on the XCR. I re-torqued it and have shot another 2000 rounds with no budge whatsoever in that bolt. This is another gun in which I didn't check any torques before shooting, just shot out of the box.

If loose screws can happen to Sig Sauer, it can happen to anyone. The lesson is: examine your purchase before using it. If a screw comes loose...........then tighten it. It is not an uncommon occurrence.

Pushing for is one thing, actually having the idea seriously entertained is another. De-restriction would be a lot bigger fight than getting the LGR dropped. The howls would be horrendous.

Then again, we have just seen the impossible happen last week. :)
 
FWIW, and it's been discussed here lots, only the early XCR's need locktite.

when they moved to the second gen, the rifles had everything installed from the factory.

not two weeks ago there were a f*ckton of m14s/m305 on the EE. TONS.

things come and go, but my xcr will always be around.
