I heard someone said that if you went for ducks hunting and use the full chock with steel shots that would hurt the choke so you had better to use M. choke,is that correct ? thanks!!!

You are right city hunter. Modified choke only for steel shot. Although I believe you may be able to get a special full choke for steel, I think I remember reading something about that. Maybe someone else may be able to suggest something, who has a little more knowledge in this area. But for safety sake you can't go wrong using a modified choke.

what you really need to do is write or e-mail your manufacturer with your gun's serial number and age and they'll tell you whether or not it's compatible with steel shot, or if there are restictions- i've got a remington 1100 full choke circa 75 and remington said it was ok as long as i stayed below #2 shot- if your shotgun is newer than 93 or so, it should be marked with something about steel on the barrel- that's about the time we had to switch- you may not be happy with the patterns that steel through a full choke throws however, mine went to super tight, almost like slugs

I have an Ithica with a full choke all the way through....Im stuck with lead
- oh no you're not- bismuth, and lead alternatives, not necessairly steel- or get your barrel changed to a compatible

Not true. I have a remington 870 that I shoot lead and steel through a full choke. What you need is a specific choke for lead AND steel. They are hard to find during hunting season but they are out there. Haven't had a proble with mine after 500 rounds!

please allow me to make a follow-up question, whats the best choke constriction for both buckshot and slugs? I want to avoid changing all the time. thinking of using the cylinder, any advice? thanks

cylinder bore does both no problem- no choke at all- that's what most of the so-called "riot" shorties are in- you may run across the odd improved , but most are cylinder bore-
