In the endless pursuit of the "PERFECT" hand gun round, like any other new ones, ,357sig, .38super [this one was more for where poeple weren't allowed to own .45acp or like military chambered guns,i.e Mexico],ad so on.
.357 Sig is a cartridge designed to meet the performance of light .357 mag rounds in a semi-auto. A good round but not perfect. Anecdotal evidence shows it to be a great barrier buster though. Compared to 9mm and .45 anyway. .38 super was the cat's ass back in the day (1930s). Today it's used in fancy race guns to meet a certain criteria. Nothing "perfect" about it.
Any chance you're both right?
At least that it was developed by Jeff Cooper and Norma, and
then the FBI tried it but decided to move to .40.
I don't mean to sound like a #### but your link only proves my claims. It wasn't developed for the FBI. It was just adopted, then replaced by the .40 S&W as the 10mm was too much for your average FBI agent.
