Is the C8 full auto?

I always thought it was just semi auto, but i was watching a video and a Canadian soldier was firing his rifle in full auto and it looked like a C8 to me.

But that's just me

Yes, C7/C8 are full auto, no burst.

C8 same auto function as the C7, you may be thinking of the the semi auto patrol carbine Diemaco/Colt Canada sells to law enforcement agencies in Canada that are neutered to semi by specific police dept. request.

just have to use a short burst, I have had some nice groups.

Now if your dumping 30 rounds at a time while ducking half behind cover or running, thats another story.

I like "Giggle switch" but "fun buttons" is also good.

Check on the F/A on the C8/C7s family.

One thing to keep in mind, when you switch to F/A your not really worried about groupings at that point.

Full auto is necessary and effective in close quarter battle situations such as house clearing and trench/bunker clearing. I personally think that the 3 shot burst is more dangerous in high stress situations because you have to keep the enemy AND your finger in mind. That second long pause to pull your trigger again after the third round can literally be deadly. I have talked to US soldiers who expressed the same concern and wished they had full auto on their M16 A2's with the 3 shot burst. Under high stress it is better to have your rifle pumping rounds until your mag is empty and you can just concentrate on all the enemy to your immediate danger area.

Speak for yourself, I have no problem making hits on full auto. Its all about technique, which is different from other methods of shooting.

Gunfighter had me putting VERY accurate fire on target with full auto. And not just short bursts. Anyone else do the 30 round dump into the 3 and 6 inch dots?
