Is the norinco m14s thicker around the forestock than an actual springfield M14?

From what I have seen in pictures; this definitely seems to be the case. I am just wondering if it is anything that anyone would consider annoying about the rifle.

i don't know about the wood one, but is sure thicker and heavier than the fiberglas usgi- and it feels more "clubby"- it's also thicker in the wrist- and it's enough that you can feel the differece if you put the 2 side by side- i can't speak to a usgi wood stock- however, most folks replace that chu wood anyway, right off the bat, so don't let that influence your decision in any way

well, there's at least 1 or 2 i know of that have been sittng on a dealers shelf for over a year- they're both bells, and one is a camo - reason,- price- 629 - and TOO DAMNED HEAVY- plus mistrust of the chinese-

Does anyone know where it would be possible to get a used springfield m14 (not the norinco chinese copy) on the internet or around the maritimes of eastern canada?

That price is rediculous and so is the camo they put on the rifle.

Unless you have the converted auto status I think you'd have better luck asking for a Springfield M1A. Try searching that on the EE.
