Haven't been to my local shop in 5-6 weeks, when yesterday for a look around. There's Varget, H4895, H4350, IMR4350, CfE 223. WOW and there was 6-8 cans of each. Long story short, christmas came early, I'm set for powder for 2 years.
 
It sounds like most distributors just got their orders at the same time. Whether or not that signals an "end" to the shortage is a different issue.
 
I don't use Varget, or a few of the other powders that I have seen people complain about a lack of, but I bought the powders I use a few times this year without any problem whatsoever. I think the 'shortage' is/was actually just on a few that are widely popular/distributed.

Regardless, glad to see people are again able to get their hands on what they want/need.
 
Certainly no shortage in the states as of a month ago, if the stores I visited are any indication.

..can't help but think that this supposed shortage has become very much a manufactured problem, rather than a deficit of manufacturing volume. Prices are getting ridiculous for some of my powders.
 
Hodgdon powders have been in regular stock for months now at various LGS' around me. Varget still goes quick since it's very popular and lots of people are still buying everything when it comes in and hoarding it. I picked up 2lbs of Benchmark yesterday from LeBarons and they had a case of 20lbs of it. They had 20lbs cases of several different powders but all Hodgdon.

IMR, Win, and Alliant are still hard to come by. I've been rationing my last pound of Bluedot and not shooting many slugs as a result.
 
Dunno, he said they got in a "20lbs case" of various Hodgdon powders. I asked and they didn't have any 8lbs kegs so I'm guessing they got two boxes of ten 1lbs jars each.
Last time I saw an Alliant case I swore it had 9x1lbs cans in it (3x3 pattern in the case). So Hodgdon cases are 2x5 or something then?
 
Well it sure as heck isnt over out this way. There was only one place in town that carried a meager selection and there hasnt been any on the shelf for close to a year. If one of you gents would be so kind as to PM me with a source for Reloader 17 or H414 or H4350 I would sure appreciate it.

I picked up some H335 at LeBaron too and they hadabout 8 left. But LeBarons doesn't carry large volumes of powder (and no primers at all so it seems, they haven't got any cci in a year and a half).Now if only I could find some power pistol

Might still be ;) I was in there yesterday and there is a 3lb limit per customer.
