Is the STI Edge the best "Standard" gun?

I concur with IPSCSouthpaw. I also shoot a CZ Tactical Sport in .40. I now have the aluminum grips and magwell and fiber optic front sight from Angus. I like the feel of it more than the Tanfoglio I handled at the Nationals last year. The trigger is great, period. No tweaking necessary. For the $1600.00 I now have into this gun with the 6 mags and Angus parts, it beats any gun on the market for preformance per price in the Standard division. Sti has the CZ beat on parts availabilty, no doubt. However, after over 20,000 rounds the only thing I have change other than recoil springs and shok-buffs is the one slide stop that broke around 18,000 rounds. I can live with that, easily.:D

Got another question...

I was looking on the Freedom Venture's site... is the STI Executive worth the extra $600 over the Edge? Comes with the stainless steel mag well, front fiber, and a hard chrome finish. How's the chrome hold up?

How's the trigger on the Executive compared to the Edge? Same?

What else is different?

I have got over 20K through mine and it look like new....I got an Edge with chrome/fiber front sight and stainless magwell......red grip and trigger...

I had a Para 16-40 limited all tricked out and it was a great gun. I then got a good deal on a used STI for about the same money (great deal):D . IIRC though by the time you replace the crappy plastic mag bases on the para, I changed mine right away and sold the plastic spares to guys atmatches who broke theirs, the para mags are at about the $90-$100 mark anyways.

As for the executive, I think it's worth the extra $$ right away b/c there all mods you'll end up doing to the edge anyways.

Just my .002 pennies or 100 Lira:shotgun:

the hard chrome finish is very durable haven't had any problems at all yet, shooting rain or shine, the Executive is basically the same as the Edge, just some cosmetic changes, sure is purdy though, just e-mail Sean at Freedom he will answer any Question you have.
