Is the takedown feature of the Ruger PC Carbine a weakness?

Just curious how many folks who have the PCC 9 has a Scope versus a Red dot?

I have a 1-4x LPVO on mine, as I do on most of my fun guns because of my astigmatism, but I find if you have a scope with a true 1x it is every bit as fast as a red dot, plus you have the bonus of magnification for the longer shots.

I have the Spark AR, but I also have the astigmatism which is a pain. I love the red dot but because of the blur I may have to put the scope on. I only target shoot and blink right now anyway.

I should add one more comment. I found a knock off Leipold 1.5 x 5X scope with rings and mounts for approx. $75.Cdn out of China. No surprise I guess. I have had the scope on two of my 9MM PCC's and now one mounted on my 1894 Marlin. I know it is inexpensive but surprisingly well made. So far it has held zero and has worked quite well. For those on a budget it might be worth a look. They can be found on Ebay. Search 1.5 x 5X Rifle scope and it should come op. Shipping is free.

Here it is mounted on my 1894.

The scope won't stroke your ego but it might be what some are looking for. So far the scopes have performed for me.

I have a 1-4*24 Vortex V-Brite on on my Ruger. I like the simple uncluttered reticule. The red dot really stands out in low light. Scope is usable with dot on, off or dead battery .
IMO, the only disadvantage is the additional weight.

The take-down feature is not an issue with the 3 take-down rifles I own. None of my take-down rifles are what I'd call a long range rifle.
The oldest is 120+ years old.
