Is the Tikka T3 the new Remington 700?

Here's a little info for you. ALL Tikka and Sako rifles come through the US. Stoeger imports them through Berretta USA. When the US stops the arms exports, you won't see any Tikka's anymore either. ;)
Just send the container to Canada instead. I'm sure the boat can make it there. You drive right into the St. Lawrence and drop it off in Montreal. They do it all the time.;)

They won't be imported from Finland.

Now that post just showed how little you know about guns in this country....Stoeger Canada imports directly and not through the U.S. Don't you ever tire of going on about things you know nothing about??????

The last Tikka I looked at had some type of hard plastic on the bolt. Compared to the older Tikka 595 they are not even close to as nice. The Remington 700 has earned it reputation, being an owner myself 700 BDL 300 mag all I had to do was free float the gun which costs pennies, Its not a gun I will depart with.
Actually the M595/695 has the same plastic/polymer bolt shroud as the T3. You need to go back to the M55/65 for all steel components on a Tikka.

You know; the patriot law could be very beneficial to Canadian gun owners, and canadian manufacturing. They're not making it illegal to import into the USA; just out. Colt Canada is a subsidiary of Colt, and they make all of the M16-style rifles for world export. I wonder why no other companies have thought of this, though Savage does have a factory in Canada where they build their rimfires. If Canadian entrepreneurs and companies where smart, they would already be establishing the ability to manufacture in either Canada or elsewhere.

Cinch I have a M-595 Whitetail and its all steel, wood stock. Got it new and let me say the T-3s are not comparible SORRY:D

I'm with mcrae555, you are very lucky as yours is the only M595 I've heard with all steel construction. I've had a number of M695/595's and everyone of them had plastic bolt shrouds, plastic bottom "metal", and either all or a portion of the magazine was plastic. Even the short run M558/658 had the same plastic bits - just a different bolt shroud.

A Rem 700 sps compared to a T3. Are you drunk!!!
To get the same accuracy as a T3 its XCR and up....
Sako85, T3, A7 same barrels.
Just because an action goes clickty clak doesnt mean it will not shoot. Actions move cartridges, barrels shootem.
#1 factory returns....Remington. Usually bad chambers.
Guys I own both....

Hmm, I don't think anyone in this thread said the T3 wouldn't shoot...

BTW, the XCR and the SPS have the same hammer forged barrels, just different finishes on the outside. Even the stock is the same POS, just the XCR has rubber glued on the grips. Neither one of these features affects accuracy or function...;)

Seriously I really don't think either one is better than the other it is a personal preference some guys get hung up on the plastic and think and feel they have to have metal that's fine. I personally don't care either way. The plastic doesn't bug me at all.

I have owned all the major players in the gun industry and I liked them all for different reasons. My current flavor happens to be a Sako A7....

A good quality M700 is a fine rifle as well...

700 SPS & 700 XCR have the same actions and barrels.

action do move cartridges, but they also play a huge role in accuracy. you have no idea what you're talking about do you?

please site industry statistics for you claim on remington rifles being #1 factory returns.

I'd explain more, but you're obviously talking out your ass and I just don't want to waste my time replying further.

this is has been a fantasitc thread for pulling the poorly/uneducated (in a firearm sense) out of the woodwork. amazing.
