Is the XCR-M a disappointment in the accuracy department? Has anyone put on a high-powered scope and done some serious testing from a sandbag rest and used factory match 168gr. ammo to see what this gun can really do?

If you go to the thread you made 4 hours ago asking the same question, you'll notice someone was kind enough to use the search function for you.

Gee really.

I'm looking for some serious reviews that include a real accuracy test. Sand bag rest, a good powerful scope and mount, and then factory match 168 gr. There are to many reviews with cheap ammo, or iron sights, or low quality scopes, and the gun being shot from a less then ideal rest.

what accuracy are you looking for?

The answer to your question is NO, but thats how i feel about the M, you may want something completely different.

A real accuracy test with a good scope, a sand bag rest, and factory match ammo-168gr. I'm looking for a 100m group, maybe the average of 5 or 6 three shot groups.

There are to many reviews with iron sights, with or low power or cheap optics, with cheap ammo, and with a less than ideal shooting rest.

Thanks!

Go buy one and let us know how the serious accuracy test goes. Maybe I will buy one then.

If you want a bench gun this isn't it.

I think he was referring to what groups, with those conditions are you expecting?

Sub 1 inch@100y? 1 inch@100y? 2 inch@100y?

So....if I am able to produce sub MOA with a $400 optic, shooting factor American Eagle ammo, in a new gun that has less than 20 rds through it.....you feel that that is not a valid Range Report...???

Why don't you lead the way and show us all how to produce a proper Range Report.

Sound prefth impressive!... I think the only option for that guy is to do it himself.

I bagged mine properly, ran a 4-16 viper pst, and tried a variety of match ammo, from 155 to 175 grain stuff. At least a dozen range days playing around with it.
I'm a decent shot, my lmt mws prints 5 round, 2" groups at 300 yards regularly.

Sub moa or 1 moa three shot groups are possible with the xcr-m, 5 rounds almost always opens it up to 2 to 3+ moa groups.
I went through it several times, the barrel bolt was tight, etc.
A long range precision rifle it isn't. It's got great ergonomics though and very soft recoil.
Had I kept the one I had, I'd have thrown an eotech on it and played more to it's strengths than it's weaknesses.

Thank You!!

That is great feed back. That is the info I'm looking for!:):)

Wow. Relax.

What are you expecting to get out of it? If it can't do 1/2 MOA then it's not good enough for you?

It was designed as a battle rifle not a sniper rifle. Why would anyone put a huge high power scope on one?
There are plenty of reviews from new owners showing results of MOA and sometimes better using decent scopes and some quality ammo. They sound like they start to wander a little after a few shots but plenty good enough for what the rifle was designed to do.

If you want a sniper rifle then go buy one.
Maybe some day someone like ATRS will build a match grade barrel for it but until then you get a really nice non restricted battle rifle.

My XCR-M runs like a champ. I run a handload thru mine of 43.0 gr Varget and a 168 Berger hunting VLD, with standard primers in Rem cases. This is not a crazy fast load but it don't need to be, (it's a 308 not a 300). I mounted a Leupold Mark AR 3x9 in ADM mounts and it will be coming with me this year to the deer woods. Mine will run between 1" to 1 1/2" with this load. Ya gotta remember that it's a $2500.00 battle rifle, not a $150.00 SKS. Run the good stuff thru it and it will run, expecting sub MOA groups with bargain ball ammo ain't gonna happen. I will post some pics if I can dig up the targets. If I had to do it again I would not think twice, as this one won't be leaving anytime soon.
Regards.

Thanks! I would shoot only hand loads and factory match ammo through it too. It's the only way to measure accuracy. 1" groups for a battle rifle sound pretty good.:)

Why do you need sub-moa accuracy when the zombies or hoards of Chaos are coming?

Dammit, reliability, I figure, is more important than sub-moa accuracy. How reliable are the new Robinson Arms XCR-Ms? If they're more reliable than an Ar-15, I'd love to own one.
