Is there a .22 conversion for a NP-29? I checked out the Ceiner site and it seems that their conversion kit only works for full size .45 ACP 1911's.

So since Ceiner is out, is there any other ccompany that have convo kits for a np-29 1911.

EDIT: While we're on the subject. I was thinking of picking up a NP-34 and was wondering if there is a .22 conversion for it also.

Ciener kit on NP29

I'm here ! I just added my Ciener kit on top of the NP29. It does work but this is what I had to do....

I took a 1/16" punch and drifted the ejector pin out (left to right as you point the pistol away from you). Then lift up the fatter 9mm ejector. :p Now slide on the .22LR slide/top end.

Voila ! C'est bon ! Now you are good to go. :D The Ciener kit works perfectly just like it does on top of my Norinco-plinko .45 frame. I believe it was a bit of work every time you want to play with the .22 top end. My Ciener .22LR pistol gets out to the range every single week, so I just restored the NP29 back to it's permanent 9mm condition.

So is that worth all the grief ? Whatever works for you. I just bought another .45 1911A1 Norinco for $ 300ish and dedicated that Norinco to the .22 LR Ciener conversion kit. Sold my .22 Ruger 22/45 along the way.

Grotto: does this experience make sense or help you out ? PM me if you need more clarification or to discuss your options.

Cheers,
Barney

Two more questions. Is there a distributor here in Canada that sells Ciener products, or do I have to go through the paperwork hell of US export permits, and Canadian import permits?

Secondly, Is there others that work just as well as Ciener or is it best to go with the best?

I picked up a Jonathan Arthur Ciener Kit for a 19ll. I does not function very well, my friend and I tried various brands of ammo and different frames with about the same results. I thought I would phone Ciener and see if they could help. Looked on there website but could find no way to leave a message. Tried to phone but got an answering machine that said not to leave my phone number as the call would not be returned. Started to tell the answering machine my sad story when a very rude and belligerent man came on the phone and chastized me for insulting his product, and assured me they worked just fine. I asked what ammo he tested them with and he said high velocity remington in a green and yellow box and hung up on me. I will not be buying another Ciener. Try a Marvel Precisinon. w w w.marvelprecision.com The whole slide does not reciprocate, it is made like a S&W model 41.

You are right. I have read many other similar stories about the lack of ANY customer service on their part. I just bought one anyways and I'll carry out my own repairs. My Ciener it is a Wilson Combat marked Ciener, but they are the same darn thing, so we have access to parts via the Wilson distributor, who happens to be one of our CGN board sponsors: www.p-d-ent.com in Edmonchuk.

Grotto: Give Phil a shout and see if they have any of the Wilson Combat kits in stock right now.... Sure beats getting verbally abused by Mr. Ciener himself. yuk, yuk, yuk.
