I was just watching some Beowulf 50 vids and saw that manufacturers are making ar15 - Beowulf 50 pistols. Are their 10 round mags available for them?

If there are the pistols I think it's fair to say that they will use the same mags which were designed for the rifles, and therefore the 5-round limit will apply. The legal 10-round .50 Beowulf mag is a pipe dream.

If Alexander Arms produces it, then likely the RCMP would take this view as it's highly unlikely that the company would design a new magazine just for the pistol version. Much like the M&P 15-22 it would become a dual function mag and restricted to the rifle limits.

What would be needed is a completely separate company from the rifle producer to design a new pistol mag from the ground up - then there would be no way to limit it as the mag is specifically made for the pistol, but happens to fit in the rifle.

I would fully expect that somebody is already in the planning stages for this.

Well I think there is a possibility it could happen one day and with it will come a ban of the .50 mags and maybe even a real hard look at the 10rd Lars. just keep it up and we could loose all the gains we made. No way will the government put up with us having .50 10rd pistol mags that hold 30rds of .223 . If we got that far they would find a way to take it all away from us. maybe even say that the .50 mags must be pinned to 1rd. Every week someone has to suggest a 10rd .50 pistol mag. Every freakin week.

Well but face the truth. Our gun community isn't mainstream
most average peolpe just don't care And don't want to care

I wish we have the the NRA in the sourh which has such power
But in the reality it won't be the case

I disagree, manufacturers, retailers and INDIVIDUALs need to push the limit to give the government the middle finger and send a clear message - try coming up with hairbrained laws and someone WILL find and exploit a loophole.

This is the way we should all be thinking. Don't just lay down and die without a fight!

Hmmm. Just to be clear. I am not an anti, troll, or a fudd. I have owned AR15's since the 80's and have fond memories of using 30rd mags in the pit at the camp. I am however not an idealist. I admire your spirit, but I have seen 30years of gun gun control. It usually does not go well for us. Yes we won the LGR. Great, However that didn't (in the public eye) put a 30rd mag in the hand of the next nutbar who guns down a crowd of Canadians. We will not win a fight for hi caps (standard capacity mags), never. We will invite scrutiny of our latest gains and lose them and possibly more. Guys, fight the battles we can win. One piece at a time. Oh and if you want to say getting our big mags back is the same as winning the LGR you are sadly mistaken. The LGR was about money. Lots of money. Mag Cap laws cost nothing.

Totally agree with Moe.
They dropped LGR because its too expensive. Not because they think we should own our guns without register

Peolpe who think we can win the battle for the high cap mag just isn't facing the reality and out of their mind

Like I said. We are not mainstream. The law are made by the mainstream. Not the one way another

Look at the US. The only place can have loose gun law are pro gun states

and too bad the average Canadian aren't pro gun at all

Just my 0.02

harbl_the_cat has a lot of good points there so folks don't jump on him. I admire the stand tall before the man and fight like a cornered rat attitude. I however actively protested more than 20 years ago against C17 and what I learned from that was to become more selective on channeling my efforts. Fighting like an insurgent in a way, always looking for weaknesses or soft spots in their system of gun control. Taking advantage of their errors. If you look at the situation as a lets go fight them head on even if we have a peace maker and they have an M134 then I say your better off with planning an ambush with the peace maker than a show down at high noon.
