Is there a decent holographic or red dot sight for under $350.00?

I am looking at options for my beretta cx4 carbine in 9mm and don't want to put some ebay crap optic on it. At the same time, I can't justify dropping $500.00+ on it right now. Is there a quality option for $350.00 or under, new? Am I better off enjoying the irons and saving up for an aimpoint micro or EotEch XPS3 series (which are the two sights I would buy if cash was not an issue).

Thanks, I am very new to optics beyond the very basics and any info would be great.

I've got a Bushnell TRS-25 and a Burris FastFire. Both have been dependable and have had no issues. The Bushnell was $180 and the FF was $220-ish, IIRC.

I will get an Aimpoint Micro at some point to go with my Comp M2.

I like UltraDot's made in Japan, lifetime warranty and about $150 or so depending on the model.
I've got a few and I like the small dot size.
I got mine here but it looks like the price has gone up a bit since I got mine,

I've never seen the Vortex red dot but it looks like good value as well...

Bushnell Trophys on my 686 and 629PC. Work great, multiple reticles. Throw away the crap rings and get some decent ones and your good to go.

I used a Tasco Propoint PDP2 (Japan made) on my .45 1911 pingun, fired probably 4,000 rounds with no problems. You could buy them used off EBAY for $50-60 bucks shipped to Canada. I bought a new TASCO PDP3 (China made I believe) for the same amount.

9mm in a carbine will produce little recoil, so IMO any inexpensive (less than 100 bucks) red dot from Bushnell or Tasco should work. I wouldn't bet on those Chinese Aimpoint knockoffs though.

I have a Bushnell T-dot that I put on a 10-22 last summer. They are around $225.00 and have a lifetime warranty. They are rated for centrefire or shotgun, and seems to work great so far, although I must say the first one I got, the dial for the brightness was intermittent, and I had to take it back (to Cabellas).

Thanks for so many good options! I will look into all of them. I know I may not need the top of the line for my cx4, but I am hoping to keep moving up in the rifle world and ideally would like an optic that can come with me.

I had the same one as Power Pill on my 180B. Nice little scope, sturdy as hell and has a certain tacticool/acog look to it. Two color t-dots and visible on the brightest days.

go with the bushnell holosight, they are the civilian version of eotech made by eotech...same thing exept for the aluminium hood and the NV capability

I can never stay on budget...I ended up with a T-1 micro off the EE for 600 bucks.

These were discontinued by Bushnell a couple of years ago with the main problem being Eotech not being able to supply due to high demand for LE and armed forces. Only available used at this point. Phil.

TRS-25 and Fastfire are good choices if you want a small optic, The Bushnell Trophy 1x32 (Acog look alike ) is larger and looks better on black guns. Also you have an option of red or green illumination. Phil.

Sounds like he bought an aimpoint.

I have a Bushnell TRS-25 on my CZ858 and can cowitness with the mount I have. It has a 3MOA dot and supposedly a 3000 battery life. Much better than other red dots I have owned.
