Is there a decent holographic or red dot sight for under $350.00?

I've used the Bushnell T reticle ACOG clone, and the smaller/lighter BARSKA red dot ACOG clone on my ARs, and they both worked well.
Plus both ACOG CLONES looked like they belonged on a flat top AR.

However, much as my old laser melted 20/20 eyeballs liked the BIG/FAST T reticle of the Bushnell, I also would have preferred some slight magnification ... 2X or 3X would be perfect.

So I finally found an inexpensive red dot sight that gives me both a T reticle AND 2X magnification.

I just got a couple of HAMMER 2X Red Dot sights, with the "T" reticles.

Externally, with the add on 2X magnifier not installed, the HAMMER red dot looks exactly like any other 1X inexpensive red dot, available in many brand names.

Internally, the optics on the HAMMER are clear and crisp, and the BIG easy to find T reticle is very much appreciated by these old eyeballs..

However, with the HAMMER brand,
there is a REMOVEABLE screw in extension that fits into the front, that increases the magnification to 2X,

These HAMMER red dots are available on EBAY for about $ 80 US, which is roughly twice the cost of similar looking red dots,
BUT,
IMHO,
either the 2X feature or the T reticle makes them superior to most of the cheap/simple red dots out there, and worth the extra cost.

I've mounted one on my M14, and another on my LMT 10.5" shorty,
and I'll report back on the long term durability of these units.

im looking for a reflex style red dot... i notice that no one is suggesting these.... is there any reason for that?

cheers

Are you looking for something like this?

If so they should be in you target range & Wolverine sells them.
Although these are dam good if you can find them;

Just like an EoTech except the battery life is shorter and a few other differences.

I've got a question, know anywhere I can find either a weaver or picatinny rail for an SW 66 without having to drill or tap the thing? I'm also looking for a red dot sight to mount on said rail.

You can get an Aimpoint Comp C3 from TSE, new, for $440. It's basically the military optic without night vision and a 50,000 hour battery life. Might be worth a look and much cheaper than the T1.
