Yes there is a difference. Firstly some powders will work, and others won't (different applications require different powders).
Next: from the set of powders that work, some will work better than others. Some will work, but will be:
- too dirty
- too expensive
- too hard to get a reliable supply of
- too inconsistent (lot-to-lot variations).
- probably five other reasons that don't spring to mind immediately.
However: are there a variety of powders that will work well? yes.

p.s. My personal favorite for your bullet weight is WSF, but other powders work fine.
