With the recent B.S. going on in Ottawa with Harper and the 3 traitors, and knowing that the 3 traitors plan to make Canadian domination easier by banning many firearms.
Knowing that in the past rather than banning and confiscating in most cases, the government of the day elects to grandfather people who have the "bad gun of the day".
My question in this.
Is it worth my time to start to produce AR15 lowers and other assorted parts.
I have good access to 7075 billet aluminum, I have the 4 axis CNC milling machine and the programs are all written.
I could therefore have stripped 100% finished lowers available in very short order, as in BEFORE Jan 26th.
These would be mil spec lowers, but made of stronger 7075 aluminum, mil spec anodized and ready for assembly. The only other change would be that I would like to incorporate a rear pin tensioner to avoid any need for the Accuwedge crap.
Costing about $400.00

What say thee?? Am I wasting my time?

If you could drop that down by 100 I am sure you would get more interest. Maybe offer custom engraving etc....it would be tempting.

I could reduce the price by using 6061 aluminum as it is less than 1/2 the cost of 7075.
I would prefer to build a better quality product rather than a cheap POS
If cheap is the only prerequisite why not buy a Norc?
Custom engraving is totally possible, it takes time to write programs and time is money though.

I like it. Although please don't make the pin tensioner make the gun crazy tight as was the case the last time I tried to break open an Accuwedged C7.

You're actually low.

Right now the going price for CNC machine lowers from 7075 T6 Billets is running $250 to $300 US... which equates to $325.00 to $390.00 Canadian dollars without taking into account any transport, brokerage, etc..

Add to that the fact that most US manufacturers are quoting 6 to 9 month delivery now on AR lowers (that's how bad their backlog is.

With our much smaller market size the reality is that these items are worth well over $400 dollars here... if they are made properly and the tolerances are correct.

If you want to sell a quantity of them at wholesale I'll take some :)

I would buy one with custom engraving if available or atleast some Canadian themed logo. Maybe 'Kanaduh' if this coalition goes through.

I thinkest not... $400 is a little more then we can get them for when we can get them but these would be made in Canada...

Interested at that price. What would the lower name say as a Manufacturer?

Why?
Because I bought a completely assembled AR lower for less than $400......I am not tying to sound like a dink but you asked....

Like they said, at the moment Lower Recievers coming out of the US are still the most economical option.

That's to say, for the moment though, this could very easily change in a few months given the unstable political situation.

My "grown up Christmas list"
ATR to get licensed to produce LaRue products
10rd AR mags, full length.
10rd AR 9mm mags, full length.

I think I'd be in for a Canadian lower if there was custom engraving/logo/serial number options.
