Semi's are used lots by guys who don't have the mental faculties to work a bolt or lever under pressure.
It's just another action type...ie a preference with merits and advantages if the user puts the time in to learn how to utilize them.

Never did I realize that you can take your hand of a gun cycle back and forward a bolt put you hand back on your gun and steady as fast as not moving your hands at allSemi's are used lots by guys who don't have the mental faculties to work a bolt or lever under pressure. Not that I have anything against them, just the people who think they have to have one for follow-up shots. Even a fair rifleman can put just as many aimed shots through a bolt or lever gun as elmer fudd who's semi magnum blaster comes out 1 week before the season for "sight in" then goes back in the closet till next year.
. Maybe our soldiers should use bolt actions or levers. Semi's have less felt recoil making shot recovery faster again.

Yeah, they must be the same guys that buy cars with automatic transmission... they obviously can't handle the situation![]()
A Browning BAR MKII Safari ,
gas operated, has 7 locking lugs on its rotary bolt and gives you 1 MOA accuracy .Recoil is reduced by 45% , it comes in the popular calibers, made In Belgium and assembled in Portugal .
Makes sure you get the Safari , as it has the forged and machined steel reciever .. the barrel is Hammer forged and is a medium wieght barrel .
Like All Brownings the steel is beautifully polished and Deeply blued and the dark walnut is very Nice .
The MkII Lightwieght have aluminium Recievers .
mostly if you want a reliable auto loader except I wouldnt count on 1 MOA from a BAR and certainly not 45% less recoil. But what you will get is a good reliable auto loader with about the best accuracy your gonna get for a reasonable price. Can't go wrong with a BARI always was under the asumption shooting skill is about putting a bullit where you want it to go. I guess if I learn how to cycle a bolt faster it will make me a better shot. Can you share some of that stuff your smokin
Exactly...they require less skill and practice and are good for shooting really fast, which is totally necessary for hunting. I'm assuming of course the OP was enquiring about semi's for hunting and not soldiering

So whats the advantage of a semi? Accuracy? Reliability? Lighter? Caliber Selection? You can rapid fire without too much thought or practice I guess.![]()

So I take it you are trading in your bolt gun for a break action single shot, or better yet a muzzle loader...it's about the skill right?
Actually you assume wrong, the original poster was asking what semis were available.
I'll take a guess that neither he or anyone else wasn't asking for your permission.
Well gee, I guess if I hated Honda's I would go to a Honda forum and start talking smack over there.
Also comparing a standard trans to a bolt action is stupid. Why post in a semi auto thread if you have no input for the original poster except negativity about his choice. I own bolt's and semi's and they all have their place and use.

lots of good semi's, get a win model 100
Man I guess the next thing your going to tell us is that only real rifleman use magnum calibres. Juan you are so full of sh&t..........and all us guys that own semi's are unskilled hunters who can shoot proper. go back to yor crack pipe.Well I guess you were assuming wrong. You can be the best shot in the world but it won't do you any good if can't work the action under pressure or can't find the safety for a snap shot. Your confusing marksmanship with handling a rifle. It takes more then being a good shot to be good with a rifle of any action. If you want I could give you some lesson's then maybe you'd be more confident in the field.
